He is a proper ????. I feel sorry for people who backed that in the place market.  Why did he pull in behind the front 2 instead of staying up the rail?

My take on him is the title has gone so he cant be arsed on anything if it means working hard.

Lol. That's how baffling it was. I had a £2 line still running in what was looking a half decent placepot till then.

Ah Dpm.......... this is going on for years.......... but when u see if more often than before it`s just wrong for the sport........ and that BHA are to blame too.

easygold - it has been going on for years with Hughes. He can ride like the devil if the money is down but more often than not he will let you down. Hughes' failure to ride out for a place is well documented on here if you feel inclined to search for old posts.

seen to be doing a job had his winner does not care about punters or place pot lines breaches the rules and is untouchable ! BHA bunch off gutless pretenders having a jolly old ya ho !
as for carrying out their job to ant degree off efficiency is another matter e mail them and ask why he was not fined under the none tri-ers rule ? he certainly did not ride out for best possible finishing position a blind man can see this ? why are they taking a wage ?

Newsouth.....I probably started all those threads........ but still nothing done....... and have sent many e-mails to BHA and they still reply in favour of the rider........ I`m sure other punters have got in touch with them.......

It`s not about when the money is down........ he has ridden many winners when the money is not down.... that opinion is getting away from the issue.
Cheers

If I owned a 2-y-o and the jockey flogged it, when well beaten, on it`s second run to get 3rd place, I wouldn`t be happy.

There are many rides where jockeys give a runner 'not a hard time' once beaten.

In Hong Kong or Australia they would be suspended for 6 months for such a ride.

There is no enforcement of the rules here.

Can understand frustration but they don`t run them for us.

It's not a case of not flogging it,themighty..It's a case of 'folding' and not riding to the finish.

If the connections of 2 year olds don't want their steed to be pushed to the line, perhaps they shouldn't race two year olds.

if the horse has nothing to offer you cant expect jockey to beat it with the whip

easy gold is correct its not their jobs to be judge and jury , no one wants a horse flogged to bits , but the rules are ride out for best possible finishing position end of chapter !

if they banned Hughes he'd hand in his licence like he did the last time.

Extract from BHA rules for riders:

45.1.1 ride his horse throughout the race in such a way that he can be seen to have made a
genuine attempt to obtain from his horse timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best
possible placing, and
45.1.2 take and be seen to take all other reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race,
however it develops, to ensure the horse is given a full opportunity to achieve the best possible
placing.
