trainer says we're stepping up because we think it will suit so jockey holds up off a slow pace and then compounds by coming 5 wide round the bend - mind you he has history, just amazing that these 'loyal' trainers and even more amazingly 'loyal' owners put up with it

horse was v green still, will be the best of that bunch in time. I'd expect a big step 4ward next time.

jockey far to cocky and you cant give group horses that much of a start they don't come back the same on this fast ground , has not trained on in my opinion , but agree jockey gave it a poor ride today just to rub salt in !

Am I missing something here, reading this without seeing the race you would think the horse was miles out the back and never in with a chance.

Always someones fault when an over-bet one sinks, dealer.

Declan McDonught has had a few rides this year that make you wonder. He can no longer claim title to being "The Enforcer" more "Lack Of Forcer" !

Horse not good enough. Simples

Seemed to have just about every chance to me, you could probably argue it could have scraped second.
Report carrot1960 July 20, 2014 5:35 PM BST
strange ride all right pulled its head off in the 1st half of the race then could not pull it up after the line
Report bigmart July 20, 2014 6:51 PM BST
poss cd want further but not the same horse i seen as a 2yr old ! out of see the stars perhaps an extra furlong might help matters but needs to leave that run and ride well behind
if i were the owner the jockey would never ride one of mines again can make millions off pounds dif in breeding value ! that's the sort of school boy error ride you expect from an apprentice Crazy

The Filly clearly has "doggo" tendencies.
Report bigmart July 20, 2014 7:06 PM BST
any idea what the injury was star ? maybe still feeling it ?
Report racingstar July 20, 2014 7:11 PM BST
Had her head to the right all the way up the straight,Mart.
Either a dog or feelng something.
Report MJK July 20, 2014 7:16 PM BST
Ah the ever more used 'horse is a dog theory' which seems to be the favourite term on here these days. Perhaps the horse just wasn't sharp enough after an interrupted training schedule this season.
Report racingstar July 20, 2014 7:18 PM BST
MJK,
When a horse is carrying its head to the right all the way up the straight something is clearly amiss or is that too difficult to understand?
Report carrot1960 July 20, 2014 7:19 PM BST
poorly ridden and nothing else and i left the race alone , mcdonagh is still taking a pull at the 3 furlong pole   the horse's head was awkward in the home straight and the horse did drift right close home , mcdonagh could not pull the horse up he had so much left in the tank
Report the dealer July 20, 2014 7:20 PM BST
I doubt not being sharp enough would cause the way she carried her head up the straight, granted it might simply have been she hated the firm ground but imo you have to question he resolution for the game.
Report MJK July 20, 2014 7:21 PM BST
I do understand racingstar. More often than not the horse is hurting or is not getting enough oxygen in quick enough. Every race these days on here at least half the horses are classed as dogs. Getting ridiculous.
Report the dealer July 20, 2014 7:22 PM BST
As are the constant barage of jockeys imo
