a guy(lets call him Tom)collects his unemployment money on a Friday morning.he goes for a few drinks and decides to take a chance on the first race and puts 20 on tony mc coy in the first race.Mc coy looses.before long TOM is half drunk and money is almost gone.Tom is in big poo.HE phones his brother for a loan and the brother tells him to take a hike.he asks his mate for a few quid and the mate says no chance.Soon Toms girl arrives into the pub and tells him they are finished and she is going back to her mother.Tom checks his pocket.2 quid left.He goes into the bookie next door and and writes out 2 quid on trap 6 in the last race.bookie says no bet the hare is running.Tom staggers home.on his way he does a 2 quid lotto ticket.wakes up saturday morning and is feeling real bad.stays in the house all day.Sunday morning comes and Tom wins 1.7 million on the lottery. All the friends are back telling him how great a guy he is.even the bookie called to wish him well.its a strange world.they all had a big party.Laugh

Sick an tired of people spelling loses as looses ( as in OP of this thread). Bit like you bigmart, insisting using the word Off instead of OF !

Took early retirement  8 years ago. One company pension, one private pension , supplemented by income from horseracing. Love it. On here before in between or after everything I'm doing. Often night/early hours as I'm an insomniac. What's your excuse ? Happy

Facts, Im a clinical psychologist and I've posted on here on several occasions in a professional capacity.  I've helped Yorkie on many occasions to deal with is unnatural inclinations towards a poster called ZODIAC (name has to be in capitals or he will have "an episode").
Have you sought professional advice for your insomnia?  I only ask because it's well known that insomnia and gambling make unhealthy bedfellows.  A bit like politics and young men, or being australian and playing with a didgeridoo.
Anyway I'm here to help - and of course anything you post will be in the strictest confidence and only available to those on this forum.
Regards
A concerned but empathetic mememe

Facts, I'm trying to help you - you seem a tortured soul but appear basically good person - as demonstrated by the smiley afer your thanks (FOYDC means "Fanks, Obviously You Do Care" doesn't it?).

Of/Off

Lose/Loose

I backed it/No you didn't

I layed it/No you didn't

I greened out/No you didn't

My mate won this much/No he didn't

I have a pa/driver/nurse /No you dont

Just a couple of errors that makes me agree with Facts.
