Risible programme, one hour and they couldn't give 2 mins to The Old Newton Cup( a Heritage H'cap)

They'd rather spend 80% of the time boring us to death re: The  Eclipse !!

Producers in the pockets of Dubai sponsors and the bookmaking fraternity, who get massive free exposure/ advertising  every week

So what? For being on telly purposes, it is surely his persona in front of the camera that counts? Two questions: does he have something interesting to say, and does he say it in an interesting manner?

With the prog starting at 8pm they're not really going to get anyone other than racing fans watching so they should really focus on a proper analysis of the days racing.

Facts - re exposure for Dubai sponsors and bookmaking interests, they have and now basically fund racing on terrestrial TV. We might like to think that racing can tell them where to go but it would be worse off without them. We'll see when the BHA negotiates it's "Racing Right" with the books to replace the Levy how much the books need racing.

Agree with you Facts, very disappointed that there was no feature on the Old Newton Cup, this Heritage Handicap is one of the more interesting races of the day and surely within the hour could have discussed it for a few minutes at the very least.

Why does anyone care if they discussed the Old Newton Cup - would anyone actually be influenced by a single word the panel said? If so you must be a mug punter so given whats been said above you should be enjoying the show the way it is.

I think we're taking a wider view uncle, hoping more people will get into racing and maybe prove fodder for you.

No one said they'd be influenced by what was said. Interesting to here views and see the horses.

i would get rid of G.C his  attempts to try to make himself sound exiting are pathetic.When he did a voice over for a competition he sounded like a sqiurrel on ice

I'm sure the chap who started this thread will agree that what the programme needs is a jovial,enthusiastic presenter.Someone with a good rapport with the general public,who has a few jolly catchphrases like "They're not messing about",or "that man again Hanagan". There must be someone available who fits this profile.....

"they're not messing about", "I'll leave that to the judge", "You could go around again big fella"  Brilliant stuff. As Big Mac said in last Sundays' Post "They got rid of us because they said we were causing viewing figures to drop........They've dropped 35% since we left!"

There were plenty on here who were clamouring to get rid of the old guard as well. I don't mind GC but I'm not sure the "brains trust" type approach with him, Jimbo and Nick luck works well enough. Little did we know it but Jimbo and Francome (widely accused of being a guesser on here) were a good pairing.
