what is that prat on ATR on about ,,cost baraweez as much as the second horse..........OMG what a muppet
Report Poppydog. June 26, 2014 3:35 PM BST
If you watch the head on carefully the 2nd horse hung in to the winner before getting the bump

Will keep it
Report bilbobaggins June 26, 2014 3:36 PM BST
That really isn't the point. Dance and Dance was hampered - loses an inch - coming back at line. Must be thrown out.
Report Poppydog. June 26, 2014 3:36 PM BST
1.25 seems generous

If the blue horse didn't hang in towards it, there wouldn't have been any contact
Report penzance June 26, 2014 3:37 PM BST
2nd lost by about a head,cost it
imo.

Oh well
Well done to those who took some decent odds.

Thought the fact that the 2nd headed towards the rail first, wasn't the winner's fault

Report onlooker June 26, 2014 3:54 PM BST
ATR were far too blasé, about the potential outcome.

Boyce, in the Studio, ans Maplemuppet both adopting a 'nothing to see here' approach.

I thought there was more chance of the runner-up getting it. than the last race at Bath, last night, that was also awarded the race.

Backed the runner-up in the Stewards, accordingly.

joke decision. Absolutely no consistency from one course to the next
Report Dr Crippen June 26, 2014 3:55 PM BST
Always cover yourself if you backed the first past the post is the golden rule.
You can never predict what the stewards will do.

The winner went out to 7 at one point possibly more.
Report Poppydog. June 26, 2014 3:56 PM BST
That head on

Use the orange horse behind as a guide

The new winner starts to the left of it, hits the winner a yard to the right of it.

He's drifted some way to get that bump
Report bilbobaggins June 26, 2014 3:57 PM BST
Why the mover? Nothing wrong with that decision.
Report robbie fowler is god June 26, 2014 3:58 PM BST
there wasnt much interference at all ,they never throw them ones out ,they say he had time to still go past

when a horse gets completly stopped and then gets back to a neck behind they wouldnt get altered ever  yet when theres a tiny bump that dosnt stop momentem and had time to get back up they alter just coz it was so close
Report robbie fowler is god June 26, 2014 3:58 PM BST
what price were they in stewards
Report Deltâ June 26, 2014 3:58 PM BST
Poppydog, correct the 'winner' now, has gone over to receive the bump...
Report bilbobaggins June 26, 2014 3:58 PM BST
Agreed Poppy but Baraweez also went pretty sharply to the right and DID bump DAD. It wasn't 6 of one , half a dozen etc....
Report onlooker June 26, 2014 3:59 PM BST
the mover - and poppydog -

You are both watching through you punting spectacles -

- and both WRONG.

Report Dr Crippen June 26, 2014 4:00 PM BST
You can't predict a stewards. Next time they'll let the first past the post keep it for doing a lot worse than that.
Report themover June 26, 2014 4:00 PM BST
my point wasnt about whether it should or shouldnt have been reversed, my point was that there is inconsistency by the stewards...I have seen far worse interference where the result hasnt been altered than that one
Report Dr Crippen June 26, 2014 4:03 PM BST
Look at the last couple at Stratford.
The stewards have as good as said if you don't move over and let the horse through you'll lose the race.

There's no consistency whatsoever in stewards enquiries.
Report Gibberish June 26, 2014 4:05 PM BST
I didn't think this was as clear cut as some and as I backer of Baraweez I was a bit concerned (especially as I've had some grief with Newcastle's stewards in the past) and I had it in a small double with Zain Empire @4/1.

The money's still in my £3.65 account but as I'm unsure of the rules (in multiple bets) I won't be surprised if it disappears soon Scared

Besides the B/F backers, has anyone been buggered by this decision yet?

I don't this was an appalling decision by the stewards but I think the deserved winner was Baraweez.
Report onlooker June 26, 2014 4:08 PM BST
bilbo is correct - It was NEVER "6 of one and half-a-dozen of the other" in the memory of man.

At the very best, or LEAST  - whichever you deem more appropriate  - it was 2 of Dance and 8 of Baraweez, including a sudden sharp BUMP by Baraweez.

I do agree, with others, that there have been similar scenarios were the result has stood - but, it shouldn't have stood in those instances, aswell.
Report UnlikelyWinner June 26, 2014 4:11 PM BST
The stewards are to inconsistent imo baraweez was always gonna hold on even another 30 yards  it would of held on. Now the result has been reversed i want to see more consistency, won't be to long that exactly the same happens and the horse will keep it
Report duffy June 26, 2014 4:16 PM BST
different stewards at different tracks...that's your problem, if you had a smaller group of the same fecaes at a central office somewhere over-seeing all tracks and decided from there ...you may got more consistency.
Report mepoor June 26, 2014 4:17 PM BST
if you watch the race after the bump the now winner  stopped him from giving it a couple of cracks till he got it balanced, then right on line he gave it a crack of whip and it just got beat, I was shouting just at the bump hit it hit it obviously he coudnt for few strides.so the reverse result is spot on although was tight.

Stewards Betting was mostly -

Baraweez - 1.28
Dance - 4.4
