It seems stupid to oppose Australia but....Kingston Hill for me.

after over a decade on here it will never cease to amaze me to see people patting themselves on the back for selecting a horse slightly over evens in a race with a multitude of winners, as though they have discovered a microscopic diamond in the sahara desert

pluck a 25-1 winner and then you are entitled to take your shirt off and run into the crowd. A 2.5 winner then best to be happy and move on.

The very reason to celebrate is to congratulate yorself on doing something difficult. And theres nothing difficult about a horse at around Evens winning a race.
when i backed phil taylor to win about the eighth of his world darts titles i would frankly have looked a bit of a p rick posting a thread saying 'i told i told i told you' as though i was some kind of mystic soothsayer.
it was a great bet - thats absolutely right, as it was a winning evens shot, rather than a losing evens shot (like the other 2, in any putative 'bunch of three' evens shot)
Who wants to make things difficult when the ultimate aim of gambling is to make MONEY?

Yes but you will decrease your stake on a 25/1 winner where as you up your stake on an evens shot...same pleasure IMO
