About time jockeys worked out you can't challenge on the outside after the last at Stratford, Oh and if someone can get Chapman a clean set of underwear the studio staff at ATR would be grateful.

I think they got it right reversing it last time, but apparently this is what some people to happen every time there is a close finish at stratford!

The funny thing this time is that if McCoy had got up by a nose the stewards should be giving Sam the race as mccoy hampered him squeezing through the gap.

I can't see that STD did anything wrong, it may not have looked right but he was perfectly right to stop any jock coming up his inside, remember a similar incident with Dunwoody and Harvey years ago. Stewards should take action against the course for siting the fence there in the first place.

Just a bit Delta, The mute button will be hit in a minute but I'm half looking forward to his elation/disgust (Delete as applicable) at the stewards decision. Wonder if Mick Fitz will email the studio to give his opinion.

They won't reverse it because of the history at the track imo. Which is a shame as I feel as though it should be reversed, despite the fact McCoy rode a shocker in the closing stages. I backed the First past the post and have hedged and have nothing to gain or lose either way.

Under the current Rules of Racing, the result should have stood. If you have lost money on the Stewards Inquiry you have only yourselves to blame for giving the pricks another chance to get t wrong.

Maybe contentious but certainly not ridiculous. I thought it was dangerous riding by STD. If it had not been reversed I think AP would have got his revenge on STD a few times over in the future.

Amazing decision TBH. Very similar set of circumstances to the March Dolatulo Benbens race where the Stratford Stewards reversed the race and then on appeal the BHA reversed the decision back to the original result.
The BHA sent a very clear message to the Stratford Stewards which has been ignored. Time for some heads to roll.
Although the winning distance was not as clear cut McCoy was in the wrong place and apparently the Stratfrod stewards still think it up to the leader to move over

Corruption in racing has never been so obvious. Times are hard. Even, thick, braindead, waste-of-a-life, stewards have to try and top up the pension somehow. By the way, how's your mate. Think you owe me one there, tone me old mate. Wink, wink.

it seems to me the stratford stewards have decided to the dolatuo case.so the jockey club should replace them if they will not enforce the rules of racing

I backed the Greatrex horse last time when it was FPTP and got thrown out and then reversed on appeal and today I backed McCoy initially but then backed the FPTP in the result betting after the race.
I can accept losing even though I don't like it but what I can't accept is being on the wrong side both times when the stewards repeat their fcuk up after having effectively already been told they got it wrong previously.

I was dying to have a good moan about something as well.
I'd have given that McCoy what for if I'd have seen it. Whether he was in the right or the wrong.

If there's ever been a better argument for centralised stewarding, i'd like to see it. They were told they got it wrong last time, and they do exactly the same thing again. Nothing more than a d*ck-waving contest between these self-important clowns and the BHA.
Farcical.

Pathetic, we've seen 10x worse than that over the last week never mind year, but soon as its an AP fav they fall over themselves to reverse it.. pathetic. but what do you expect when its run by corrupt old men.

th last time this happened in march i done my money and few weeks later result was amended again and we dont get paid. this will go o an appeal in it will be reversed but we wont get paid

That was a shocking decision. I backed neither horse but what was STD supposed to do? Just say here you go champ go where you please. AP had loads of opprtunity to switch but he chose to go that way. He never got up until it was too late and the water jump was there so that was his own fault for misjudging it. The standard of stewarding in Racing is a joke. The BHA want to market horse racing as a 'sport' well they should treat it like ones and enforece clear black and white rules. Not enforce them one day and totally ignore them the next. Pathetic that makes the whole sport look corrupt.

In fairness, STD was awarded a race for being squeezed out, so should have known better. Im just glad i backed it fixed odds and got paid double result, as id be fcuking fuming if i'd layed the jolly.

It just gets better now with this quote and then the head on photo in the link below.
Stipendiary steward Richard Westropp said: "Stewards found that Sam Twiston-Davies had kept a straight line from the last fence and did not allow Tony McCoy racing room on the outside.
STD is in front and so is entitled to run straight and then if need be edge left a little bit just before the railed off water jump and McCoy was initially behind so had a 50/50 choice of which side to challenge and chose wrongly. STD also has both reins in his left hand and on the left side of the horse's head and the whip in his right hand, all which should mean he isn't steering into McCoy's horse and McCoy ends up having to barge into STD to get back on course to cross the finishing line and so the stewards are basically saying STD was wrong not to move over and let McCoy up his inside despite McCoy making the wrong choice of where to challenge.

i don't think it makes them look corrupt; just incompetent.
still - at least they're consistent.
alternatively, make the water jump a legitimate route after the last if they want to jump it lol

As I pointed out last time, the racecourse executive themselves have done nothing to change the layout that causes the problem in the first place, despite many incidents over the years including Ruby Walsh actually jumping the barrier and the water jump as a double passing the winning post.
It is not good enough to simply put a barrier up against the water jump, a route from the last fence should be defined by bollards forcing the riders to take a line from early on the run in.

It's a tight call looking at the available 'head on', the angle of the racing line is hard to judge, until I saw the Stipe's quote, I thought STD had been censured for steering into T. McCoy. I think thats unlucky but justified.
If HQ consider the Stipe's evidence was why the stewards reversed it then that decision ought be criticised....but I'm in the decision-will-stand camp, Antony was saddled reasonably pretty, bolstered by his reaction to STD at the winning line even before STD compromised himself by Tweeting about tonight's C. Froch fight and Ruby W.'s sarcy Tweetback.....lessons for us all as usual.

That's twice the Stratford stewards have given the race to the horse that comes up the inside and is short of room.
The moral in future must be to challenge up the inside and if there's not enough room then appeal.

If you look at the layout of the track from the satellite view it's asking for trouble.
The shortest route from the last fence is to clip the edge of the water jump. If you challenge on the other side you have further to travel. No wonder they keep cutting each other up.
They should put the water jump somewhere else.

I agree Busvaldo, the first past the post should have kept the race.
If a jockey comes up the stand side and gets short of room then it's his own fault. The one that is in the lead after last fence has got the advantage and shouldn't have to give it away by running wide of the dolled off fence to make room for the others coming up the stand side.
It's a ridiculous stance for the stewards to take.
