I have to take issue with you saying he isn't a good tipster. A few years' ago (before he got the full time Channel 4 gig) I remember he was doing a piece for some media outlet prior to the Grand National - I can't quite remember whether or not it was BBC1, Channel 4, ATR, RUK, RTE, Radio 5 live, Talksport, Channel 5, Sky, or any of the other various media outlets Mick is prepared to **** himself out to for a few quid - but I distinctly remember Mick saying that to win the Grand National, you need a hoss that jumps well and stays well. GENIUS!! This was a revelation to me! In my 20 years of punting, I'd always thought that the best type of hoss for the national was a specialist 2 miler with plenty of falls and unseats in its career. Thank god Mick was there to put me straight! His insight proved to be invaluable.

The bloke must have skin like a rhino. He must look back on his performances and realize he spent the whole broadcast talking complete incoherent drivel. how much longer do we have to suffer him?

I don't understand the problem - I think Mick Fitzgerald is a really excellent, natural presenter. Catering for the majority of ignorant and unknowlegible viewers.

You may jest, but there used to be plenty who thought that you did indeed need a 2 and a half miler

Turn the sound off, all the channels have wafflers that don't come up with anything worth listening to. I put the sound on when they're off, as long as the betting shows are available all you need are them and the commentary.
