I lead a sad and lonely life :p The postman delivering my mail is usually the highlight of my day and i eagerly anticipate his arrival looking forward to perusing any glossy junk mail brochure.
Today the postman really is my best friend as a new glossy "brochure" appeared through my postbox addressed to me personally. Well sort of to me.....really addressed to a pseudonym i use which is a variant of my surname. Helps me to figure out whos selling mailing lists to who but thats another story.

Westbourne Racing Club "your personal invitation to join us and take advantage of our very special and exclusive offer"

Gives me a warm gooey feeling inside just thinking about it.

It would appear in the past they have owned several horses however now they are very much an "advisory service". o_O

Without going into details and boring you about the brochure 3 things stood out for me. 1. They make no great claims to past success other than the fact they claim to have been around for 25 years, ie no long list of winners and points made. 2. The nicest reference they could find to quote on the back of the glossy was the legendary "You seem a good club run by nice people" and 3. The source of the quote was a chap called "Ken". While im sure its another chap with the same moniker it does bring to mind memories of other "advisory services"

Im lucky though because im getting a 4 week discounted offer. What should have been £120 can be mine for just £49 and if i sign up for the 2 year service(which is the only other option!) i can get it for the special one off promotional offer of £495, a saving on the original price of £2880 :obscene-buttred:

Anyway, just thought id share my stroke of good fortune, im off to check my passport and count my pennies as i shall soon obviously be rolling in cash courtesy of the bookies!

You may have to take "Ken" on holiday with you, though.
