IMO - They retreated into their shell for Cheltenham and missed out on an overall successful festival for the industry.
I have little customer loyalty and take advantage of best price and offers where possible but thinking about it - I didn't place a single bet with this outfit over the festival. In fact, I can't remember the last time I used them. Completely uncompetitive.

All you need to know about this outfit can be summed up if you look at their prices for next year's Champion Hurdle. I was thinking of entering my Shetland Pony but they put me off with the 5-1 quote.

The shops of theirs that I visit, are in such a disgraceful state, they might as well close.Don''t seem to employ cleaners.

Hardly a surprise is it? Never knowingly top price on anything; won't take a decent bet; largely reliant on the fetid FOBTs the usage of which appear to levelled out at best
Cyril would be aghast

Hasn't affected the share price - up 6.9% today (9.9p)
You heard it first on a thread on here....
Pinza • March 22, 2014 12:14 PM GMT Ladbrokes had better get their act together. Shares down nearly 50% on highest year price If the go any further Paddy Power might go in for takeover (I haven't got any shares in them yet, but carefully watching at present).
Bought in at 1.33 on 26th March

Lads profits down 51% in the first quarter so I expected the price of the shares to drop, when I looked at them today they have gone up 10p a share!
wonder if its got anything to do with the news that the fobts are not going to be restricted to £2 a spin?

There have been bid rumours for many months so no change there. Probably more to do with yield considerations - over 6% at the current price and they have announced that the final dividend is to be maintained. Stay well away from this wretched shower is the best call I would think.

Paddy Power should take a long hard look at themselves..
They are frightened to take a bet on the horses..
Just one example - they pay five places on a top handicap as at Punchestown and they then slash the maximum stake...
So they are taking less on the event but paying more out...
There should be a bit of joined up thinking with those Irish Half-wits....
As for taking over Ladbrokes who would notice - in fact they should get the treble up and take over the rancid Jenningsbet operation and then the combined firm could advertise...
"Never knowingly above bottom price on every horse in every race uk and Eire"
Disgusting the way that the industry has panned out....

And the fat Crawley chancers that run the rancid outfit are only in it so that they can sell out eventually...
Whoever is in charge of the prices should be shot ...
Disgusting individuals that should not be allowed to run a penny slot arcade...

OTC bet volume up 8.5% so maybe they are taking bets!!!
They moaning that OTC margin was only 16.2% on turnover rather than 18.9% the year before.
Something seriously wrong with the industry if they need a margin of 18.9% to turn a decent profit.

Clueless management and I am dying to tell a few tales but perhaps I have had too much water with it tonight...
Watch this space....

totally direction less as a firm, anybody who wins £100 so called Market Place managers (glorified cashiers) seem to have the ability to refuse bets when in reality only BAC should be allowed to refuse bets the fact that they no longer want to take bets means that when somebody does win with a big bet hurts them even more, if they actually played bookmaker results would even themselves out over a period of time, instead they come out to play on one or two races suffer a loss then shut up shop for 6 months, can't operate a business like that .... you go in to any Hills or Paddy Power shop and it is full go into any of these jokers shops and in the main they are empty

I was in laddies yesterday evening for about 10 minutes from 7.15 - I was looking at the screens and not one screen at any time showed any prices on the Bayern v Real match that was starting half an hour later Plenty of cartoon racing prices - plenty of screens mentioning the £20 free play on the machines on Saturday but not one price on the footy - I found that incredible
and no I wasn't asked to sign the petition although to be fair I had kicked off on one the last time I was in there as they tried to pay me out on a bet at 13/8 even though the correct 15/8 price had been initialled - one phone call later and I was paid out at 15/8

Same as in William Hills. What are they up too. They deserve to lose jobs as the screens show nothing of any interest.
Notice Stanley Racing have started up again....

Stanleys were the modern day Fred - they didn't even have the excuses of arbing on the exchanges but they didn't like taking a bet - and their staff were rough old women
Ive been in the new shop once - didn't have a bet though

Share price very telling. I wouldn't be surprised to hear in a few days that "oh by the way, we've separated FOBT and sports income", as 51% would be just about exactly the FOBT figure. Just don't believe this anyway.

ROFLMAO. I had one manager suggest to me (after the inevitable cut) that 2/5 was a better price for me than 4/6. I KID YOU NOT.

FOBTs players now have to take a ''spin'' down the High Street due to the very stressful banjoing by the Social Workers (un-trained) behind the counter ! Perversely, this could lead to greater profits for some of ever increasing bookmaking arcades !

maybe they're due to re-negotiate a new deal with racing because bookies profits always slump just before that.
it's strange to see firms that made millions out of taking bets now see their profits well down because they refuse to take bets.
maybe they could get some financial wizard in to tell them what's going wrong.
