Once again another know it all gets it wrong. My understanding is that they had already sold 8000 before the walk up. Wonder how the Beatles would have done.

Bookies are sadly no more.....all they are now are snipers in the bush......waiting to pick off the next drunk that approaches.....
If they think the punter is clever.....then they tell him sling his hook.....
If he has a beer in his hand....can hardly talk and has just pisssed in his pants......then its the red carpet.....
Parasites doesn't even come close......

There are usually positions for 74 Tatts bookmakers at Uttoxeter. This was reduced to 50 for the concert. Only 30 turned up. I think that answers your questions as to how lucrative bookmaking is when there are music nights on.

For info, I didn't work, I just went to observe and the concert area was rammed well before the last race, which just proves that at £30 entrance and £4 a beer, there is not much left in the entertainment pound to spend on betting.

40% of pitches empty - Says a lot really.

PAULI,SAN QUENTIN,THESE ARE THE SIMPLE FACTS.THE RACECOURSE PUNTER HAS NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER HAD IT AS GOOD AS THEY HAVE NOW,AND THATS EVEN ALLOWING FOR THE FACT THAT THE VAST MAJORITY OF RACECOURSE BOOKMAKERS ARE COMMISSION AGENTS,AT ALL OF THE RACECOURSES I ATTEND THE FAVS/SECOND FAVS TRADE BIGGER THAN THE EXCHANGES(NO COMMISSION/NO PREMIUM CHARGE)AND U CAN BE ON,BUT U WOULD KNOW THAT IF U CAME RACING WOULDNT YOU!

Long Live King Fact, Providing a proper service to Racecourse Punters Up and Down the land, a credit to the profession in a climate of ever increasing expenses others stand and watch in awe as they find it tough going these days trying to spin every pound back on here at bigger, many have thought about trying to follow but under no circumstances must they have any liability in their book at any time.... goes against what they know simply cant operate any other way and would need to spend every race in the nearest toilet
