pmbets you are correct...turf was c2s behind the live feed at haydock on sat....anyone who plays in running seriously will have found it harder on ruk this last 10 days.....i have
Report andyl April 24, 2014 11:52 PM BST
but i don;t think the delay is the same for everytrack....perth for example played ok today, nottingham ok last week yet catterick, thirsk and newmarket as well have epsom have all played tough...liquidity is much worse than normal hence why some tracks seem to play ok or hard IMO

but ruk has slowed down in cojunction with turf slowing down (satellites moved again)
Report Gorgeous George. April 25, 2014 12:48 AM BST
If you only bet in slowly run races it may not matter so much.
Report Wicklow April 25, 2014 12:14 PM BST
I suggest last week or so about a change in the picture speeds from RUK - It only seemed like an extra 3/4 of a second - but it was enough to make it virtually unplayabe as any prices were gone.
This week its seemed back to normal - like you suggested Andyl - with perth, catterick etc..

So its not just RUK? turftv was that bit further behind aswell?

So we now going to have a portion of the ruk tracks that are pointless playing on - and others where you are in with a chance.

Cheers
Report gerard April 25, 2014 12:40 PM BST
At the risk of sounding contrary, as a stay at home punter who relies heavily on RUK, prior to this thread I was wondering what possible reason there could be for the last ten days being so blindingly good!! Is it possible that Turf TV has slowed but not RUK??

Since the races are suspending "as live" on RUK here, can any track players confirm they are having to wait over two seconds for the suspend, which they would have to if this new delay is in place?

I find ruk with very little delay if any.

There is no way it's two seconds behind not with me anyway.
Report bilbobaggins April 25, 2014 3:53 PM BST
Nonsense Wicklow - if you can't play it's not the delay - it's the person in the mirror who can't quite make it work. RUK is 5 seconds behind ATR as it has been since July 2011. The delay has not increased.

Wicklow is talking sense bilbo. Maybe you should stop being so patronising
Report tomhunt April 25, 2014 4:12 PM BST
I can only relay what it has been like for me and certain tracks are playing better than others,I'm playing the same as I always have, some meetings are like Kempton AW to me yet Catterick, Perth and Warwick have been great this week and I play exactly the same as always. If you play favourites all the time then maybe there isn't much difference as the prices are holding up late in races.
Report Wicklow April 25, 2014 4:23 PM BST
Bilbo - Im not saying I cant make it pay - I was just pointing out that theres definitaly been certain tracks that have been alot harder than normal in past few weeks. I just do the place market inrunning - and the horses say running into 3rd place out the back of the tv - are hitting 1.01/03 when they are just coming into shot. Its happening that 3/4 second quicker than normal.
Sounds like i am not alone on this - fair play if you dont notice any difference - but maybe its the way you play.

G luck

I mean that in the nicest possible way btw bilbo but that last post of yours replying to wicklow was patronising as feck

There are full timers on here that have been playing for years like yourself noticing a difference so there is obviously an issue of some sort. It could be that it is affecting some and not others for what ever reason, location maybe, individual track, who knows

Wicklow - no offence mate but I do get fed up with people that say things have changed when they clearly haven't. Some people say liquidity is shot to pieces when it clearly isn't.

If you're having problems getting matched then I'm sorry about that but try and look at the things you are doing to try and adapt to your perceived changes.

How many more of the utterly ludicrous lies by the OP do we have to suffer?
The delay is exactly the same as it has been for many months.
What we do have is a savage lack of In Running Liquidity.
Naturally, this wll not affect the recreational £50 punters on here (of which there are many).
It is harder to win now and the "guessers" are now bleating that the "Delay " must have altered.

Let's be honest tips, you are guessing - you're not comparing feeds with a stopwatch more going with a vague "how it feels" measurement. My best guess from what I know is that Rider is fairly close to the mark - there has been no change to the speed of RUK pics, but at some tracks more people are getting "raw" pics which gives that impression.
Report tips May 1, 2014 1:53 PM BST
you are more than likely right Gerald
Report andyl May 1, 2014 1:55 PM BST
gerard i've been to 2 or 3 turf tracks in the last week and they are roughly 1.5 to 2 sec behind live hth
Report gerard May 1, 2014 2:06 PM BST
Did you have access to RUK through sky at these tracks Andy? And if you did can you confirm that races were suspending at the off on those. Given that are the track boys having to wait two seconds before they can bet after the stalls open? I'm not saying you are wrong (i'm only guessing too) but I have spoken to people with access to turf/track/ruk who are adamant that nothing has changed, and my own RUK experience would appear to confirm this. Some tracks are always a bit different imo.....
Report duffy May 1, 2014 2:12 PM BST
Probably a daft question but wouldn't we notice a distinct gap between suspend and the race actually starting/finishing on our screens if the gaps were getting much bigger?Confused

gerard...yes but timed with ruk there. also my personal experience of several years backs this up....i do think though the delay is less pronounced at some tracks than others....turf has also slowed down so that is why the delay may not feel "real"
Report Bun ruinslives. May 1, 2014 3:16 PM BST
When they suspend the market at the start of a race it is done manually by someone at betfair.  I have been on track when sometimes they turn the market in play a few seconds before they have jumped and after.  So when you see the market suspend at the start or end of the race it is not exact to the time they jump or finish the race.

From my experience when i am "doing my brains in " i always seem to think my picture speed has slowed down ( or some other outside influence ! ) and conversely when i am on a high ( normally through getting a lot of good luck ! )i think there is nothing wrong with my pictures . Strange isnt it ?
