Report TRD.Racing April 2, 2014 4:44 PM BST
You cannot ride a race like it's a bit of work
Report PugMunter1 April 2, 2014 4:44 PM BST
unplaced

Laugh
Report stewarts rise April 2, 2014 4:45 PM BST
Don't think he was supposed to give it a hard race Pandora.
Report Poppydog. April 2, 2014 4:45 PM BST
Fair enough if the horse wasn't ready.

But stewards should look into losing 2nd place by easing down
Report PugMunter1 April 2, 2014 4:45 PM BST
won his maiden on soft going

how can that be defended?
Report McCoy Carp April 2, 2014 4:46 PM BST
Do they have different rules in Ireland? Looked bad that.
Report der_der_73 April 2, 2014 4:46 PM BST
easing down? The horse that came 2nd should have won. You guys are just seeing what you want to.
Report McCoy Carp April 2, 2014 4:46 PM BST
Commentators on ATR don't help either.
Report Artadi April 2, 2014 4:47 PM BST
If you are not going to try your best to win then withdraw.
Farcical !
Report 11kv April 2, 2014 4:47 PM BST
3rd*
Report carrot1960 April 2, 2014 4:48 PM BST
he did win his maiden on soft going ,but the stable was firing unlike at the moment where there just going through the motions
Report McCoy Carp April 2, 2014 4:48 PM BST
Blatant non trier. Can you tell me what the penalty for that is please?
Report stewarts rise April 2, 2014 4:48 PM BST
What was the horse he got beat on this time last year, when he held it up about 1 furlong behind the leader?
Report deadbrain59 April 2, 2014 4:58 PM BST
0/7 fav,s.
Report MillionaireMaker April 2, 2014 5:14 PM BST
O'Brien freely stated before the race that he wouldn't be given a hard time and was only 80% fit.  If you still backed it after that then you can't really moan can you ?
Report starfish and coffee April 2, 2014 5:17 PM BST
So basically he freely admitted to breaking the rules?
Report workrider April 2, 2014 5:18 PM BST
Well M.M ..if it was only 80% right , why run it on that going ?..The best facilities in the world at Coolemore and it arrives at the track 80% fit ffs...
Report TRD.Racing April 2, 2014 5:19 PM BST
Million Plenty would have backed the horses, plenty would not have seen the interview. we are talking about odds on favs, not 100 shots. You cannot treat the betting public with utter contempt. If they won't go on the ground, not sure about running them, them don't run them
Report MillionaireMaker April 2, 2014 5:29 PM BST
He doesn't price the race up though does he?

He said he either wanted a race or a gallop and he would get more out of a race , wasn't happy about the ground but said he'd still run it.  Told the public it was 80% fit and that Joeseph wouldn't get to the bottom of him.   Obviously if people haven't heard him say that then they would be a little miffed but that's probably why it drifted like a barge.  It's one of his best animals  why should he have to knock the stuffing out of it when its not cherry ripe?
Report TRD.Racing April 2, 2014 5:31 PM BST
Not cherry ripe,don't run it.
Report RothmanMike April 2, 2014 5:34 PM BST
Amazed at all the controversy on here.
Aiden O'Brien told you all you needed to know prior to racing.
Instead of  banging out idiotic posts on this forum..listen to what those interviewed have to say.
MM spot on mate
Report RothmanMike April 2, 2014 5:35 PM BST
After all, he does it EVERY year at this time
Report TRD.Racing April 2, 2014 5:36 PM BST
rothman You think everyone who backed the horses across the world was watching ATR,get a grip FFS
Report deadbrain59 April 2, 2014 5:38 PM BST
u should be laying on the favs,simple as.6,10 next,HappyHappy
Report koikeeper April 2, 2014 5:38 PM BST
When racing, the rules state.. to ride to gain the best possible position...did joseph do that, regardless what his daddy said.
Report TRD.Racing April 2, 2014 5:40 PM BST
No,they were given an easy. Against the rules,no matter the going,no matter what the trainer says before the race
Report RothmanMike April 2, 2014 5:40 PM BST
Only amateurs dont have the tools to play this game.
ATR is essential
Report MillionaireMaker April 2, 2014 5:42 PM BST
koi we know them the rules , but we also know that it goes on all the time everywhere. The Champion flat jockey is the worst for not riding for a place ffsCrazy

At least he told people before the race!

And I wasn't watching ATR I heard it on Timeform radio where they played his interview.
Report 11kv April 2, 2014 5:45 PM BST
Smullen didn't give that one a hard ride though  Crazy
Report KeMoH April 2, 2014 5:57 PM BST
Oooooooooops- more carnage for odds on S/P backers. 4/6 toppled over into 3rd - has this ever happened before? Jockey to blame, of course, dear oh dear!
Report KeMoH April 2, 2014 5:58 PM BST
...and it's the same old, predictable forumites posting on the 'jockey to blame' thread Crazy
Report deadbrain59 April 2, 2014 6:36 PM BST
fav never in it,0/8,nothing against joseph.Happy
Report Wickett April 2, 2014 6:40 PM BST
MM - you are right with regards to the interview etc. Very similar to Crisford talking about Farrh before last years Lockinge.....

I jest - I am more concerned about the peeps who jumped on this morning and how the subsequent drift and ride will look to them - particularly if they are new to the sport.  It's no wonder FOBT and Football betting appeal to the masses. (IMHO)
