I am intrigued.

What possible reason or cause could there be for losing lead before, during or after the race?

Does anyone know of a method for doing this?

not always, there was race about 2 years ago where a winner weighed in light and they let the result stand as it was a hot day.

i remember it well because i had the 2nd and had never known for a winner weighing in light to keep the race, god damn!
