Betfair.com must close every italian account within two weeks... I have received the advice today, so these are my last bet days on Uk and Irish racing horse... Obviously the Exchange in Italy will be ridicolous, no money and no events, nothing compare to .com Exchange... However thanks for the relaxants afternoon to follow the racing horse in your companion... I'll miss the fantastic emotions that only a horse race can give ( expecially when you have choose the right horseGrin).
Good Luck!

P.S.
sorry for my terrible english

The exact day will be April,10.

While we, italian customers, will abandon the exchange matter (whatever about gambling is regulated by aams in Italy is a pain or worst) I fear that also this enviroment could suffer from an huge lack of liquidity. After UK, Italy is by far the most important player in horse racing market.

Definitely, not a good news for each of us.

BTW: with the incompetence that Unfair is showing, I fear also italian operations operated by betfair.it, will be soon a disaster...

giotto - I presume you've been concentrating on winning on here rather than posting on the forum (1 post every year). Why are they closing Italy down? It certainly can't help liquidity.

Does that mean we won't be able to bet on end of season fixed matches (usually to draw) anymore?

I think that the Italian matches will remain in Betfair.com exchange...

I like to read the forum but, yes, I've preferred to concentrate on the betting matter. It's areal shame, and a huge loss for me and others, because this platform and users are fantastic ...

About a post a year...in thes three days I've posted some stuff regarding wd isuue.. I still wait for a 2k from friday...

I'm really worried for all users about Unfair.

One simple thing.

In the business they run, Technology, Customer Service & Financials(money management) are core competence to have and hardly and stedily develop...This not seems the path nowadays the company is walking...best of winnings to everybody !!

So does this mean we can add Italy to Spain and Canaries. Looks like we will have to stick with the carp weather. I suppose Portugal only hope.

BF signed a mou with italian regulators (aams). Thy got a gambling license in Italy, they had their native technology used for the exchange.it, but they ought to close every .com account. Italian liquidity was by far more attracted from .com websites, instead of .it websites. One and only onethe reason: the price. InItalybookies and aams all have to be compensate, so musch better bet on here...

I can't understand why betfair agreeded:italians are smart enough to calculate margin percentage, and in the coutry thereis a lot of "unofficial" turnover. So betfir.com will lost all liquidity on horse races, only a part of that on soccer/tennis, will swift from here to betfair.it and only if,and is a big if, betfair.it and italian bodies, agree to do apool with liquidity on here. However, never this happen for horse racing. The unique solution, for me and others, will beto live, and bet, in England....

If you really, really loved us you would come and live over here.
We have some lovely countryside ... would recommend Hull, Sunderland, Rotherham ... in fact the list is almost endless.
And our pizzas are to die for.
Good luck.

what about daq or are all sites being blocked?

The italian customers should bet only with the sites .it
By:

When: 25 Mar 14 16:34
sure, but are they actually blocked and as above even if they are there are ways around it

if the t&cs say they won't accept you then chances are they will close you down if your ip address is italian, but if you were across the border betfair would accept your business, so move your ip address

is not a problem about the IP Address... they check the place of residence of your account...

yes there are programs that will cloak your ip address ie you are in italy but the cloak program will create an ip address elsewhere in the world that is betfair safe i.e. 5% comm and there is nothing betfair can do about it.

if the italian govt then decide all betting transactions are illegal then you are doomed unless you have a uk or other betting friendly country bank  account you can then carry on betting as loads do in spain and france etc

the question is NOT the IP address (we can also nowadays be here thanks to DNS manipulation and/or connecting with other url provided by betfair itself...betfair.com is already by years, bannedi inItaly, (not illegal, however).

The question, now, not is from where the connectio come, but wich account you use. If you are an italian with an account where you have declared your residence in Italy, you are done.

The solution, apart some tricky ones, is to be itlian, register in another country, and open a new account !!

Bye bye aficionados....

If anyone is interested, tonight you'll see an easy victory of Fiorentina against Milan... hope this helps
