If anyone wants a car park badge for York this year I have one going spare, first one to contact  me by contact request gets it.

Sad to say the living room at York has closed and has now opened as a Missoula burger bar so far the reports are not good, anyone know of a decent bar around this area?

p.s. Paul let me know what bar you will be in as I still owe you a bottle of wine for helping me out at paddy power.

Me neither colupaul, of all the big meetings in the UK and Ireland, York is the only one I've never been to.

Colupaul

Enclosure's Tatts and County the view is pretty similar, facilities slightly better in County, depends if you want to suit up and pay more. I usually go in tatts. Course is ok if its sunny/dry, view isn't brilliant though.

Musidora day is my favourite of the meeting as there is a Group 2 sprint that usually attracts some good horses, went Dante day last year the is a decent fillies race for 4years+ as the supporting race, never been to the Friday of the meeting.

Its my favourite meeting at York of the year as its not too busy compared to the Saturday meetings (no drunk d1ckheads) and you see some good horses.

Dewey, I had a really good mate from York, a typical Fred Truman type Yorky bloke. He used to tell me what a wonderful county Yorkshire was, the best of all them. He said this in the comfort of a Cambridgeshire village pub where he moved to and still lives to this day Laugh

Actually had a lovely time in Yorkswhire as a child - swam in the river Tees.  Drove across the Yorkshire Dales as an adult....passed York Racecourse - and wanted to be there........

rufio - thanks for your reply mate... been looking at trains... see the last race on the Wednesday is at 5... how long to get back to the station? Cheers.

On the subject of 'what to wear' I've never been one for a whistle... prefer the casual nature of the jumps scene... but maybe it's time to go a bit upmarket for a change... Saville Row hear I come... Laugh

20-30 minutes walk, try and follow the main road back up to the city walls/station.

Lovely place to visit York and the racecourse is superb - Dante meeting means Summer is about (even if the sun isn't)

As already said, good racing without the crowds of a York Saturday or Ebor meeting. Good value as well, £16 in Tatts if bought in advance or £14 on day if Racegoers Club member.
