horse makes mistakes nothing you can do about it , but switching on the run to the last was the jockeys error did he not learn anything yesterday

He is usless over fences.  I fancied it but didnt back because of the clown on top.  Look at pendra yesterday.  Another faultless round from the champ.

His positioning in top races is very suspect.

what are you talking about yorkie? he obviously had to ride McManus horses and most other top stables have their own retained jockeys

The stables outside the top maybe 5 or 6 always book McCoy if he's available

McCoy basically  an average competent jockey who had a lot of luck with his connections.
People get blinded by the numbers but they are of no significance other than indicating motivation and longevity.
The title 'champion jockey' is essentially meaningless -which is not to say that it doesn't influemce people's attitudesor, of course, the media hype machine.

St Hugh's Cheltenham jockey stats haven't lied so far. Barry and Ruby were the top 2 - albeit no surprises there, but Tom Scu was ?4th on the list and he did the stats proud with a 33s winner.

Very unfair. The horse wasn't the right type to win this race. McCoy did brilliantly to go so close.

The problem is AP will carry one over the line that should have won by five lengths. Absolutely fantastic at getting horses well handicapped. Have a look back and you can see Timmy Murphy got Wichita Lineman to travel on the bridle. AP made the horse look like the most difficult ride ever. Still all his fans will be happy as long as he rides a couple of 1/4 shots somewhere next week.

Don't slag off the jockey when the horse isn't good enough.

And don't praise the jockey when it's the horse that is doing all the hard work when it wins.

Agree with OP completely. The number of blunders a horse makes when hes on its back is incredible. Cannot knock his achievements but give me Dunwoody, Williamson, Dwyer and Fitzgerald any day of the week. Great bridle jockeys. If i see APs name against a horse i think i shouldnt back it as chances are its going to virtually demolish a fence or even a hurdle somewhere.

Kid Cassidy was hampered,try watching the race.

If you went into a room with 10 jockeys,the likes of Johnson,Maguire,Brennan,Fehily etc etc and said right lads I think AP is an average competent jockey,they would take days to stop laughing

Glad the horse got beat as it has always been campaigned for Cheltenham only at the expense of punters who back it in it's other races. Most messed around horse in training for me.

I hear McCoy is taking so much flak over his riding that he's asked for his seven pounds allowance back.

Cannot be bothered reading the whole thread but as a punter that backed Getmeoutofhere and actually watched it in a Betting Shop I cannot believe that he was outperformed by Nico de Boinville,a jockey so inexperienced and so poor that he cannot even afford a capital letter for his middle name.
