I rather fancy placing a RR bet not having done so for many years....am just wondering if any of the high street bookies would firstly recognise it and secondly know how to settle it. Presumably there's no way this can be placed through an internet account ?

A round robin is bad enough, but each way!!!!
I think if you try to put one on in a betting shop you have to show id,they have to see that you are a pensioner!

Cheers Slippy, used to settle in a shop whilst a student.  Old geezer used to come in with a single win bet followed by "if cash" and about two pages of scribble.   Thankfully his first pick always lost.

Hang on Stanley Racing used to offer triple odds one winner on a FLAG..

For those of you that use "twitter" that was an extended Round Robin and believe me that was a good offer...

Where are they now....Sad

OK I know that they sold out to Hills and had an agreement that they could not open any Betting Shops for ten years...

But they are back and re-opening soon at a pleasant location near to you..

Happy Days....

And that love is why you should be at home cooking and cleaning rather than running a betting shop...

Posy, There is always at least one '****' offering an 'Opinion' mate lol
I like a RR whether win or each way gives a bit of interest now and again(especially afternoon in front of the telly) much the same as any multiple.I usually look for a few at 12-1 plus so a couple placed covers your stake and winners(if only lol) are a bonus.

Am off to Sandown in a minut and have placed a round robin with stan james (who have now gone up in my estimation for providing this bet) on Great Link,Greywell Boy and Waldorf Salad.
Pretty awful racing there today but nevertheless always a fun day out.

a waldorf salad is a salad traditionally made of fresh apples, celery and walnuts, dressed in mayonnaise and usually served on a bed of lettuce as an appetiser.hth

They were only ever popular as they were a way avoiding paying tax on part of the bet in 9% and 10% tax days. No rhyme nor reason to do them nowadays.
