Obtaining a conviction on a "sportsman" has been very difficult to achieve whatever the Country.
I have just received a petition via a campaigning group. Usually prepared to sign most I get through them,but inclined to think this will just give PP publicity.

I think most the bookies are like that Zip. Happy to take money off mugs but dont like it when somebody starts taking money off them. I dont think that any of them actuallly care about losing big punters to betfair as they all appear to be interested in is fobt customers. If they can all get rid of there racing customers then they can close down the big shops and open loads of small shops with just enough space for 4 fobts. Save a fortune on rent.

Paddy Power and the like, who seek to be ' laddish' and ' in your face' are unscrupulous and degenerate in their behaviour. There are such old fashioned values as respect,good taste and having a level of decency and decorum. It maybe that these values are up for grabs and meaningless in today's 'grab what you can ' society. But I believe in those old fashioned values and always will. But then I'm 63 and was brought up to have respect and to have high standards and to know the difference between good and bad.

Just because you court and achieve publicity it doesn't automatically follow that is gains you credit,kudos, and additional revenue. The phrase any publicity is good publicity is ludicrous. The history books are littered with failures, of those businesses and individuals who have lauded themselves to the height. In the uk in particular, we are good at knocking people off their pedestal . A company that smears and taints itself in bad taste and insensitive publicity will not gain business. Sure it gets the press and joe public talking about them , but will make them want to place a bet with them ? I very much doubt it. There will be thousands of people who will have closed their accounts, and many more who may have been thinking about betting with them,desist. Bad news like bad smells will lose you friends very quickly. People will not wish to associate themselves with the likes of what PP stands for , lest they be judged to be of the same ilk. I hardly think the government who has this week pretended to care and made the fobts carry warnings etc about people betting too mych going to take your report that a bookmaker is not letting you put enough money on.

I merely stated that those with a grievance should object to their forthcoming Licence arrangement on the Isle Of Man...
Never mentioned that they they should go to their LOCAL paper but those on the Island i.e the local paper..
Please take more water with it and refrain from taking the rise when it is apparent that you have had a few too many,cannot spell and have been sacked from previous employment....
