I've recently been back on betfair looking carefully at the markets and forum having been at purple for many years. I've utterly amazed that people seem to think that there is no money over there in running. Do people realize that the bots that are set up directly link every betfair customer to purple and that if you request a price which is more than 3 per cent different to betfair then you get fully matched?, this money never shows up in the market. You are far more likely to get fully matched over there. In addition the fact that your bet instantly hits the market means that if there's nothing to be taken you are protected from track players as you are not waiting for your bet to hit the market and hitting your cancel bet 20 times, as it inevitably gets matched, you just cancel. I find the money over there as competitive as on here now especially at weekends as more mug money comes in. In addition there is no cross matching and the way the bets gets matched by bots levels the playing field and hampers track players, you need to actively play the markets to see how this works.I find is amazing that people get so stuck in their ways , and are scared by change, its staggering. The money coming in from the Ladbrukes site is obviously helping in recent times and now they are actively advertising their exchange and offering 0 per cent commission its growing week on week. I'd say in rough figures that the amount matched has gone up fourfold the last year in running of which half of that is in the last 2 months. Over there you match betfairs bets, their own and ladbrukes and there will be more companies linked to their system soon from around the world bringing in people who are not able to bet on this site.
Think what you like. As a customer of theirs for years i am very glad for their recent success , in the same way i was for betfair when they were growing for the first 7 years. It has irked me to read that theres no money on there! you can see people starting threads saying that there's no money on here anymore but no ones seems to have considered where its gone!!! erm .........

Will People stop making posts on how good the Purple is becoming, there are people using Purple who are making a nice little earner and don't want other people coming over and spoiling it. Betfair is far better stay where you are.

That's how i thought for years, but to come on here and read some of the posts i found it irritating and thought i'd respond. Note the quick response of a few talentless track players who have probably got to lingfield or haydock 2 hours early to set up all their gear. These people irk me even more, nothing in it for them over at purple cos their are few big amounts left in the market , they don't want to lose their pocket money with regular punters moving over. Fancy getting in your car and driving to a track to courtside, do people who do this call themselves professional gamblers or can they admit to themselves that they are muggers?

I have no intention of trying to set up a bot to deal with some people who treated me like dirt a few years ago. A machine gun post would appeal more. Viva Betfair.

Londonboy, is right in what he says. Having been forced to look for other options due to incurring the premium charge, I have started using the purple for all my pre race and I.R win market bets the prices are reflective of here and with 3% commission as opposed to 25% it's a no brainer really. I must add that I only use working man's stakes i.e £20 back bets and lays for a loss of £20. My I.R place market bets are still placed on here, as purple's place markets after the off have virtually no liquidity.

betfair need to review the structure of the PC because in the long run could be damaging, and how long can they afford to lose valuable customers forced to look for other options, purple still a long way behind but effectively betfair are helping them.

well LV tells you a lot between the 2, one of em cant even get it running while the other just does, which as a user here and one experiencing constnant hangin is rather worrying

too right Hound dog, betfair maybe taking an additional 20% off me but by the time it's rounded up with the comission lost on my purple bets they're no better off, having reduced liquidity into the bargain

Londonboy - you are clueless pal. Have watched a few races IR over on pupple 2day. Absolute buttons matched and where is the money for these 'Bots' you speak of, as they are not in the market 'History'?
As you have been over on pupple for so long I won't need to tell you that the matched amounts over there are different from those on BF in that it is based on liability, not stake - perhaps I do, as I said you are clueless after all.
