Live Video - Is that a new video player?

When the LV was down before Christmas, I had to use the Sportsbook videos and they seemed to be of this type, and secondly much better.

I use chrome as browser on mac think that has flash built in,will have a look

I've done that and for the latest version you have to have IOS 10.6 or higher. I have 10.5.8. This is ridiculous.

The new lv hasn't slowed the pics down thankfully, but it is a bit more sticky and it uses up more cpu, that's just initial impression.

agree it is more choppy but if it's even a split second faster I will take that.

It's not faster IMO.....I differ, I'd have it a split second slower for a smoother picture, it's harder to gauge things developing if it's slow slow quick quick slow through the race.

its the same as daq, but they have given options
the low bandwidth 0.5 buffer jutters just like it does on daq, the 1 second buffer makes it smooth and identical to daq

its hard to tell rcing imo, because of the stutter its uncomfortable, cant honestly see many using it like that

i agree , my BLV has been stuttering like 0.5 for me for the last 6 months or so , if 1 second is not 0.5s behind 0.5 ( if that makes sense ) i will use 1 second

Seems that the picture quality can also be adjusted.  Requires a bit of a play around to see what is the best fit.

I timed it to 5.2 seconds on 0.5, and 4.7 seconds on 1 but with a smoother picture.

Works great here on the green screen amstrad

RUK on purple and BFV the same at 0.5

betfair about 5 seconds behind purple at 1.0

going by the prices and suspend I think it's faster

Southwell suspended a few seconds before they were all loaded for me, got not idea if was an early suspend or not, I had the same issue in an earlier RUK race as well. very dubious about this new player tbh

the only difference is on daq when it opens it starts as the same as bflv low bandwidth 0.5 buffer, if you stop it then start it again it become 1.0 buffer
selecting bflv 1.0 buffer is dead level with it when you do this

Think that was a c0ck up Keefter, certainly not an indication of increased delay.

Its the same player they use on the sportsbook site. Seems more temperamental on there but a better player with more options

It definitely performs better here than on sportsbook although there is still a hint of the stuttering....compared to the old player, speedwise it's just the same and as the old player over the past year has performed very well with the juttery nature all but eradicated...therefore this new one can't be an improvement.

so , it seems like this speedwise for ATR on betfair video

0.5 - same as usual , same as daq , stuttering
1.0 - 0.5 behind daq , no stuttering
5   - 4.5 behind daq , no stuttering

i tried 0.5 with high , med and low quality , they all seemed the same speed but low was poor quality pictures and all stuttered

2.20 South went 0.5, medium and changed to high mid race,suspended just after the line here,I noticed the difference in price late on was more like what we were seeing,time will tell.

Good to see Betfair's usual customer service standard is being maintained.

Now, where do I find the announcement that an update to LV has been applied and the implications and/or benefits of said update?

When you do find it you shouldn't see the word benefits in there
