Hello, going to Cheltenham on Wednesday to work in Tatts Bookmaking(first time) could anyone please tell me the best car park and entrance gates to use please

It will be rammed,so I would try to park in a sidestreet off of the main road to the course. You might have to walk half a mile, but that could be preferable to being stuck in the main car park after racing.

there are two car parks one on grass by the side of the main entrance,the other is on tar mac by the vets on the road towards prestbury,the grass one is slightly easier for tatts. have you seen the weather forcast ? |

will it be that busy? also going on wednesday but thought it might be one of the quieter meetings

the combination of a shocking forecast and last years meeting been off might make the crowd smaller but in previous years its been incredibly busy. |

normally 25,000 there as I remember. car-parking for the masses is carnage after racing and i'd want to avoid that field after all this weather. fwiw, i'd park on a side-street if you can't get into the tarmac parks.
I'll be there and intending to get in very early so I can get an O+T spot. failing that i'll park in town and walk the mile or two. |

Been last few years and it was harder to get a drink that the festival. Very very busy and half the bars werent open and a lot less staff in them

If smurph is working at Cheltenham he will not be wanting to drag his gear half a mile from a better appointed car park. Either of the racecourse car parks ( at the rear of Best Mate and behind where the Guinness village is situated at the Festival ) would be preferable accepting that there will be exit problems after the last race.

i wouldn't think so. normally drains really well and it's only soft at the mo:

you will have to cover some distance which ever car park you use. I would use the one on the prestbury road side behind the best mate ring. drive into the car park as far as you can and when you have to turn sharp right to park stop there and unload [ that's just over 100 yards to the main entrance ] the advantage you get is when leaving turn left out of the car park and navigate from there. after racing there is a terrible snarl up of traffic from all the car parks good luck |

no dibble , certainly not .
I learn't twenty years ago that driving 300 miles from south Yorkshire on new years day in wind , rain and once heavy snow was just not worth the considerable effort. will be there in march |
