If anyone has received an email / letter advising them that their account has been restricted or closed, and would be willing to send me a copy, I'd be very grateful. Account details obviously can be deleted. just interested in the wording used.
They have apparently set up a person to person betting site to rival betfair...
Just who is left to play on it.I have had two dozen accounts closed down. They do not send you an email you just log on and place a bet...
Maximum stake £0.00.
All you will get is some pimply minimum wage chancer in "Customer Services" emailing you back with it was a "trading decision"....
I am just happy that the rancid firm will not exist in a few years time as at the moment they are just a name with an internet site that will NEVER make money and 2000 rented shops staffed by recent arrivals, that will not take a bet and rely on FOBTS that are played by criminals and the mentally challenged...
What is this..Have you been asleep for the last ten years..They have apparently set up a person to person betting site to rival betfair...Just who is left to play on it.I have had two dozen accounts closed down. They do not send you an email you just
@homefortea - I'm just asking for some help from anyone who's had a closure letter.
No, I haven't been asleep for the last ten years, I've spent much of it trying to help people who've had problems getting paid out by bookmakers.

Who would be a shareholder in that pair -I can see a situation when the Bank Of England will have to step in for a bailout..
But the worst run firm and the reason why there are not that many Independents any more..
Step forward the worst firm ever StanJames supplier to the trade..
Founded by those two well known comedians Stan Laurel and James Corden

It is 2013 and at least 100 000 people must have had accounts closed down by the "Imaginary Sign" in the last 24 hours(!)...
Once again you do not get a letter just "maximum stake £0.00".. Occupational Hazard....

They were, "a badge of honour" .... in the days when practically NOBODY got closed down - unless you were a very good Punter, that is.
Nowadays - just like University Degrees ...... everybody gets one.

We are writing to you today to inform you that we have decided to close your account.
As you will be aware until now your account has been heavily restricted and the bets that you have wished to place haven't been accepted.
Following a review of your account activity we have taken the decision based on the fact that any bets accepted will be subject to heavy restrictions and as such the decision has been taken to close the account rather than offer this heavily restricted service.
Your account will remain open for the next 72 hours so please withdraw any balance during this time. Once your account has been closed you will have to call Customer Services on 0800 731 6191 or +44208 515 2565 (outside of UK) if you wish to withdraw remaining funds.
Your sincerely,
Ladbrokes Customer Services Team

keeping accounts open is the same as winning at punting you have to be very clever
its always been the case to throw money away on a few yankes forecasts weekly and the like to keep that account open at all costs common sense really

Have they done a review of this happened recently? I have noticed they took the max bet off and all my limits appear to be way down on what they were. I haven't relieved any email confirmation on this though

Important Account Information This has been sent to all customers as it contains important account information.
We recently wrote to you about an Administrative Fee which would be applied to your Ladbrokes account.
The Fee has now been taken from your account and was calculated as either £2 (or currency equivalent) or 5% of the balance on the date at which your account became inactive, whichever is greater. When calculating the charge, we have included balances from all wallets (including poker, casino etc). The Fee itself has been taken from the Sportsbook wallet and this may result in a negative balance if funds were held elsewhere.
If your account retains a total positive balance a further Fee will become due on the 1st day of every subsequent month.
To prevent further Administration Fees, please review the following options and choose the one that you prefer:
1) If you choose to resume betting, all you need to do is log in to your account and place a bet using the credit balance.
2) If you've decided you no longer wish to bet with us you can log in to your account and withdraw your current balance. It is possible that your card and account details are out of date so you may wish to check and update them first to enable you make a withdrawal.
3) You may choose to donate your balance to the Ladbrokes in the Community Charitable Trust which donates funds to good causes throughout Great Britain. To do this, email us at AccountQueries@Ladbrokes.co.uk, expressing your wish to do so along with your username or Customer ID.
4) In addition to options 2 and 3 you may wish to close your account for good, in which case after withdrawing your funds email us at AccountQueries@Ladbrokes.co.uk and ensure you include your username or Customer ID with your request to close your account.
If you take any action as described above your account will be protected from the Inactive Account Fee for a period of no less than twelve months from the date of activity.
Please note: No Fee will be deducted beyond that which would take the aggregate of all balances into a position below £0.
Regards

Fallen Angel, the same thing about the max bet has happened to me. How do you now know how much you can have on before restrictions? Is the disappearance of the max bet box the beginning of the end for certain accounts?

@NMR - Thanks for posting the email contents, is there any chance you could forward the whole email to me at betdisputeadvice@gmail.com
If anyone else has a similar email and would be willing to forward me a copy, I'd be grateful.
It will be of great help regarding an issue which may well cause Ladbrokes considerable embarrassment in the new year.

i think the idea is to not close many accounts, just make them unusable by penny limits. That way the bought media can be told that they do not close winning accounts(and ones who do not lose quickly enough) and of course the useless media are happy to accept anything they are fed as long as the freebies keep coming.

@xmoneyx The dispute was submitted to IBAS in July, it's still there but is subject to a Full Panel Meeting next week.
Hopefully IBAS will tell Betfred to read their own rules and pay in full.

What can I say IBAS funded by the alleged Bookmakers will come down on the side of Betfraud..
Too much time wasted on fighting cases brought by the terminally stupid and not enough time spent on the main problem.
That is if you apply for a licence as a Bookmaker then it should be the same as if you apply for a licence as Tesco. If you want to buy a bottle of wine at a discounted price then you have to sell a few of them to Joe Punter but not a shopping trolley full. The same as if you are a "Bookmaker" who is clueless, you should have to lay a price to a certain amount (say to lose £2k)online rather than £0.00..
Quite simple really and you have laid the bet change the price if necessary...

If I needed any encouragement to continue helping the Betfred Pensioner to be paid his rightful winnings, you just provided it.

Feck me Paul you have this thread on speed dial...
Let us not bother about the the forgetful - I had a few years of settling bets by hand (!) from those who who claim that a yankee was each-way bet if all four were placed ..
Get back to the basic problem and that is there is not an English based alleged "Bookmaker" that should have a licence.PERIOD..You are simply not addressing the problem..
The focus should be on objecting to their licences and making the wider public aware that they are not allowed to win.Simple.
How they are allowed to advertise is beyond me and if I lived in the UK my MP would be getting daily emails..And if they were not followed up I would want to know why...
