In all fairness, it's very very rare you ever, if at all see Hills in stories like this. With Baldfred and C0rals it is almost like a weekly occurance...

Baldfred & corral are a disgrace. I still have a slight weakness for the odd e/w & lucky 15s/Heinz so I still use Hills otherwise it's all on here. PP are the Mcririck of the betting world, an obscene joke

I normally only use baldys for the odd lucky 15 as he pays treble the odds for 1 winner.
hills only pay double.

Happens far too often this, write the slip out correctly so there's only one interpretation, it's not that hard

I backed McDowell eachway for the Open after day 1 a couple of years ago. Took 20/1 which was on their screen in shop and got cashier to write price on slip and sign.

He obliged with a place, so went to pick up winnings and the slip had been settled at 16/1. I argued that the price on their screen was 20s and the cashier had clearly written it on slip and signed it, but they were adament the price was 16s when the bet was struck.

I know I could have taken them to IBAS and won the extra 50 quid easily, but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. This must happen all the time... The worst one imo is when someone backs a greyhound, which then wins only to be told the bet was struck after the boxes opened and they are only getting their stake returned. The dog loses and the punter throws the slip in bin, it wins and they don't get paid out. Disgusting.

I had similar with Baldys.  Did a L15 for Ascot with Shropshire I think it was at 20-1. They wrote the price on the screen , then spent 10 mins ringing up to clear the bet (a £3ew L15 !).

When I went to pick up the winnings they paid me at 16-1 claiming the price had changed between the time the assistant wrote it down  and the time it was actually rung through the till. So them fecking about on the phone asking dumb questions gave them time to change the price and nick 4 points off it.

Had 6/1 written on slip Fred wanted to pay me at 11/2 as price changed split second that bet put thru similar to computer boards at races this happens all the time.
This issue should be addressed to protect punters.
IF MY SELECTION HAD RETURNED 13/2 would I have got that price -more chance of being bitten by a daffodil.

Compared to a lot of similar stories, this is particularly shocking.

I'd imagine that Coral's were not happy that he managed to get a print out before he tried to collect it as it 'suggests' (a word my lawyers gave me the green light to use) that they

(a) tried to welsh on the bet and then
(b) lied about how the bet was struck and translated
