Actually I have terrible luck with trebles in general, have only ever had one treble up when done as a bet individually (not as part of 4 selections or more) and that was about 18 months ago(never had a yankee plus in my life either). Still as a fool keep on doing it with no success...

TWO pieces of ADVICE for you...
1. An EACH WAY PATENT is one of the worst Bets that you can Place. 2. Worse still - Backing EACH WAY with just 7 runners is equally AWFUL. -------------- Why? Because the EACH WAY SINGLES part of the PATENT requires SIX STAKES..... ADDITIONAL to the EIGHT Stakes required for the 3 x EACH WAY Doubles and an EACH WAY Treble - Making 14 Bets in TOTAL. Therefore - at the predominate, One FIFTH the Odds for a Place - you NEED either .... ALL THREE to place at odds of at LEAST 5/1 in order to get your SIX SINGLES Stakes back .... in which case you will have already got the 3 x Place Doubles and the Place Treble up ..... so you do NOT NEED the Single PLACES. or - You will need ONE horse to PLACE at minimum Odds of 25/1 - in order to recoup the ALL the SIX Single Stakes - or - You will need TWO horses to Place at minimum Odds of 10/1 - in order to recoup ALL the SIX Single Stakes - leaving out the Place double that would then have been attained. Any ODDS LESS than the above will 'leave you Short'. - and ... With ONLY ONE horse Placed - EVEN at 25/1 - You will STILL LOSE the EIGHT Stakes of the Doubles and Trebles ------------------- You may counter by saying ... What if I get ONE Winner? Well - that Winner would HAVE to be at least 10/1 - in order to recoup the Full 14 STAKES of the TOTAL bet. Today's Selections started at ... 6/1, 10/1 and 11/4 That 11/4 - 2 Places - 7 Runners - which loses 31% of the PLACE stake - IF Placed - being a particularly dreadful bet. - given that you have just TWO attainable Places in your favour, and FIVE UNplaced finishing positions against you. [/b] Likewise[/b] - On the 3 x EACH WAY Doubles and an EACH WAY Treble = 8 Stakes - At One FIFTH the Odds for a PLACE - Even TWO horses PLACED at the minimum 5/1 returns 4 Points - so you LOSE HALF of that bet, to - and THEN LOSE SIX Points on the FULL PATENT Bet. So - You NEED ALL THREE horses to be PLACED - at at LEAST 5/1 - in order to NOT LOSE. In fact - with ALL 3 Placed - You would then WIN 12 times the Bet individual Stakes. There could, therefore - be a case for saying - Instead of Staking 14 Points on a Patent - at £10 per point = £140 in Total Stake the 3 x EACH WAY Doubles and an EACH WAY Treble to £15 = £120 in Total BUT - What if ONE of those horses WINS at 5/1 ? - I hear you say - and especially if the other TWO horses do NOT Place. - and you would be CORRECT. The answer, of course - is that have 3 x WIN Singles - and the 3 x EACH WAY Doubles and an EACH WAY Treble - £110 in Total Staked. That way - ONE 5/1 Winner would show a £30 Profit on the SINGLES ONLY scenario - as opposed to just 'breaking even' on such a ONE Winner with EACH WAY Singles. If you argue - What if I get TWO PLACED horses? Well - You would STILL LOSE £20 on the TOTAL Place SINGLES - as opposed to £30 on just Win Singles.... But you would be risking £60 on those SINGLES - as opposed to just £30 on WIN Singles. - and - IF you got TWO PLACED - then you have got a PLACE DOUBLE up - returning £40.... so you don't really NEED the £40 from Two PLACED SINGLES. Likewise the multiples of such a scenario with all 3 Placed. ---------------------- You say that you have, "been unlucky." - But you have not been helping yourself either. This game is NOT just about backing Winners - It's about HOW you back those winners, aswell. |
