Those nice bookie chappies make a huge contribution to the betting industry with their levy payments so we have to protect their interests at all costs.

What do you mean never bet odds on,when you put your ten quid on a 33/1 the bookie is matching it with 330 quid.so in effect hes betting odds on,and there are not to many poor bookiesGrin

Be careful of trainers who tell you their horse did not run well due to the  ground,"Why did he run him in the first place?"

or if the commentator says your horse has fallen over, don't start laying it at 1000 to his mates in-running...... it may still, be, er, running......

'we'll only go to cheltenham if there's cut in the ground' - usually not the case nowadays as the whole thing has become too big and trainers/owners feel obliged to go anyway (see pandorama as an example)

When there is a photo finish the course commentator has to say photograph twice.

If the photo finish is called in less that 1 min, think about checking the print yourself.

If a horse ridden by someone who is termed 'champion jockey' wins in a photo it's because of the jockey -if it loses it's because the horse wasn't good enough.

Addendum A to this law - The loser only got so close because of the jockey.
Addendum B to this law - If a lesser known jockey wins in a photo it was a poor ride but the horse got him/her out of trouble
