Had to look the Jockey up - jim

Michael Hills - wouldn't have guessed that.

Something of a surprise - Huntingdale's Dewhurst win - despite having finished runner-up on his only two previous runs - in the Acomb, and the Somerville Tattersall.

Seem to remember that Jeremy Hindley was hailing him as something of 'the second coming' - following his Dewhurst win - and quite a few 'bought into it', too.

Went on to be third to Dancing Brave and Green Desert in the 2000 Guineas - then 4th in the Irish version - before bombing out badly, finishing in the rear, in the St James's Palace.

Did not race again until the following season - when well-beaten, at 6/4 Fav, in a Conditions race at Leicester - Not seen again.
Report jimnast October 2, 2013 7:54 PM BST
nothing wrong with his 2000 run onlooker it seemed in them days horses got built up even more than they do now, storm bird ,monterverdi, tromos and gorytus are 4 that spring to mind.

The 'Breeding Battle' was on, though - jim

Coolmore becoming ever more commercialised, on the back of Sangster -
- and Sheikh Mo had just joined the game.

Tudenham was trained by Denys Smith. The Middle Park was the only race the horse ever won.

There have been a lot of horses in the past named after villages near Newmarket. I remember Six Mile Bottom who was trained by Harry Wragg for the Moller brothers.
