would 1k be safe at bf SP?

id imagine it probably would be on a low odds fav but the higher the odds go, the riskier it gets

Doesn't Henry Rix advise his members to bet at bsp?

the SP is always quite good on here though. rarely lower than industry SP. i just wonder how much i could get on a 5.5 shot for example? not sure how sturdy the SP market is

have thought the same thing in reverse on quiet midweek off meetings.
ifyou put up five grand to lay at 5.5 would that bring the price down below industry sp

£1000 to win at bfsp would ruin the price in a weak midweek market and probably most weekend races as well.

You would be better off getting on a minute before the off.

With bfsp you are just betting against yourself its similar to the tote.

quite correct i used to leave lays at bsp ,now you have to lay before the off ,at a slightly bigger price ( the bots will sort it for u !! ) because the bsp will shoot through the roof for very small amounts

i would doubt that if you are trying to bet 1k on a 5.5 shot at bfsp ,  that all that 1k is placed on the horse you want .

instead of backing 1k at 5.5 , betfair would probably dutch lay the field to get your bet matched without destroying the price of your selection too much . you may end up with 5.3 or something like that
