I saw the pier about 2 weeks ago. It is quite impressive but it doesn't appear ( no pun intended ) to be near anything else. A bit isolated,like Southport generally imo.
Strange place that manages to be posh and down-at-heel at the same time.

The "Sir Henry Segrave" pub on Lord Street is very popular, cheap beer and food.

Henry famous for breaking the world speed record in his car on Ainsdale-Southport beach back in the old days.

Sefton Council would not let him on his car now, although they intend to open the Pier soon which is good news.

Will this be a boxing-themed night? Match-ups tbc...
