It has just made me think about spending £1000/year obtaining the Racing Post. Especially now I am using the ATR site more.

Yep you can't beat the Post for scribbling in bets & odds - well worth a couple of quid and miles better than the ipad app imo.

barstool....i used to think i couldnt do without the RP but ive not bought one for well over 12 month now and i prefer to use the sporting life website, but it has to be on a seperate computer when the racing has started............wouldnt go back to the RP

Nothing to be smug about in winning the little I have, far, far better than me on here for sure.

What does give me a little more satisfaction though, is that since I retired and had more time to study, I have done a lot better, and I am far more controlled than I used to be. ie too many multiples, place pots, no staking plan, chasing and the rest.

Just keeping to a simple £10/point staking system and knowing my p&l every day helps me a lot.

I guess at 61 I have started to appreciate the value of money a bit more.

No offence meant. Yours is a refreshingly honest outlook barstool, discipline and sticking to the staking plan is the downfall of many I'd imagine, for a very long time I could include myself in that group too.

brother m...........ive found that when navigating between betfair and SL on the same computer....it isnt long before i start having problems with betfair mrkts.....maybe its just my set up but  a lot of the time i would go back to betfair from the SL and all amounts would have changed to dollars and not long after that betfair would become unstable
since the switch to a seperate computer i havent had these probs

Cheers for the response, I've had betfair wobbles and plenty of those dollar problems too, aside from random switches I get it every time I go to the withdrawal page, the feckers have even sent withdrawals in dollars twice.

It's always been Betfair that has caused every issue I've had during racing, throughout the day I will have Betfair and/or Daq on with combinations of the Post, Sporting Life, Timeform and a couple of US sites and I'm pretty much glitch free now, I'm sure different for everyone but for me the big helps for smooth running are:

not leaving a live video window open when the race is over,
not leaving market pages open after they have settled,
closing the forum tab when I'm not actively using it,
clearing cookies and history before I log in, and right after I log out of Betfair.

I find the old site with Google Chrome the quickest option for me.

^It's ridic any of that is needed if you're reading Betfair.

Don't think you NEED Two Computers - unless you are using old 'low processor/low memory machines'.

But I would advise using [b]separate BROWSERS.

Google CHROME is the lightest, and therefor, FASTEST Browswer for BETFFAIR.

Mozilla FIREFOX - with ADBLOCK+plus and FLASHBLOCK 'Add-On   (easily installed) for RACINGPOST.com.

RacingPost.com far better - and easier to NAVIGATE than sportinglife.com - which has far too many inaccuracies .... such as having the whole Ayr Bronze Cup Field 8lbs 'out of the handicap' on Official Ratings published on their sportinglife.com Racecards.

Many similar errors with Official Ratings - regarding Penalties, over-wights etc.

Banna only earning Minimum wage in McDonald's if that makes you feel better

Hal only earning £20 a shot in the car park if that makes you feel better about yourself

Bar- you still need heating and lighting in your house whether you're on betfair or not so that's not a negative

Kenbo- spot on £15 a week is cheap as chips- I spend anywhere between 3 to 5 grand a year on golf and I only play 6 months of the year.

Racing post is a cost you should of binned 15 years ago imho.
