Slightly off topic but I wonder have apprentice jockeys ever gone through the card?

I remember earlier on in the season I think it was (don't crab me over the finer detail) but the first 4 races were won by female jockeys and a mate of mine asked me if I could remember female jockeys ever going through the card, which I had a wry smile over.

Female jockeys going through the card is a regular occurence at Carlisle

Haynes has ridden quite a few good winners this year and what sets him apart is he's not afraid to go off in front and judge the pace correctly, was particularly good ride on Baron Run. Also great front running ride from Jason Hart on King of Paradise, these northern based apprentices are going to go far and also like Philip Prince.

Philip Prince has the extra experience of having ridden as an amateur.

On Saturday Aug 22nd 1970 - at Haydock Park ....

PAT EDDERY - claiming 3 lb allowance - rode 5 Winners from 6 rides.

5/4 Fav - 4/1 - 6/4 second fav - 8/1 - 3/1

He was 3rd on one other mount.

PETER MADDEN - claiming 5 lb - Won the OTHER two races.
