I managed shops for one of the big three spanning 3 decades. When evening opening began in 1993, even then slagbrokes were trying to persuade staff into single manning during night racing.

Betting office staff will never be saved from such dreadful conditions until they are union protected.
Regretfully, I fear this eventuality will never occur.

It's truly astonishing that a professional punter like Mick,although after another successful day is able to show remarkable compassion for the mug shop punters,by venting his anger on here towards Laddies treatment of them.

How you can blame a man that worked for Laddies in the 80's for you doing your tonsils again is incredible.
Why waste all your energy directing it towards hatred and begrudgery of Coolmore and use it positively instead.

One thing is for sure, Cyril Stein will be spinning in his grave at what has become of his firm.

all boils down to money and greed, tell the city that your going to make x amount and your results say y then the share price suffers. a couple of months of poor results and the levelling out of fobt business means the only guaranteed way of saving money is staff costs, they all try and come over as the all singing dancing caring company but its all a sham. unfortunately greed will always rule. make 4oo million and the next year they need to male 450 million.

Hills have always said they wont go done that route, amazing that a couple of months of poor results and the process begins. they made a massive saving when they got rid of their cleaners and moved to a contract cleaner, im sure that contract is up next year, any odds they will go done the Corals route and expect staff to do it...........

You done your brains and now it has to be down to Coolmore.

Shlt happens. On my kids lives that's a true story.
