Can't recall a day where jocks have done my head in so much

Haven't had a bet on the flat for a couple of months, I'd rather give the money to a Roma Gypsy. Watched a few races and it's there for all to see how bad the standard of jockeyship is in the UK on the flat. Bar a couple of promising apprentices the collection of jockeys at todays flat meetings have to be the worst in the history of the sport.

They all go to this jockey school and learn how to do basic riding.
They aint got  a fckin clue about pace and positioning.

It may be 13 years old, but I wouldn't be too hard on anyone who was fooled. You could probably run that headline virtually every day since that post.

Heard it day in day out in 80's /90's managing shops as a relief manager.
Clowns kicking chairs over, throwing pens at the screens hurling abuse at shop staff.
Best punters were those who were betting in hundreds watching the race and keeping expressionless whether they won or lost and despite 'poor' jockeyship.

Got to say, I ahae blaming jocks for a poor run BUT the pace judegment of the current crop of middle- to lower-ramk riders seems poor.

Either way too fast in front, or letting horses get away at the head of the race.

Steve Cauthen would ride most of the to sleep from the front - and bag 400 winners in a calendar year.

A  person on X highlighted Murphy’s ride on the Meehan horse at Sandown yesterday ,never played in the race but having watched the replay it looked 7lb claiming material…..sad really tbh.

Another annoyance is watching a jockey sit say 6th on 7th on the rail waiting for a gap that does not come instead of moving out sooner. Very frustrating when you have backed one and know full well what is going to happen.

All part and parcel of the sport though and you just have to accept it is not going to work out every time otherwise you could go nuts.

Since day one barstool,snatched up two out rapid headway finished fast unlucky…..maybe next time….

Most of our jockeys and trainers are very good horsemen/women but few of them understand racing!

Surely missing the point on this (old) thread?

How many of them are actually bothered about winning or riding well in each race...

was slow away..had to be rousted along..2L down 2f goin ok then got outpaced and plodded on..nothing wrong with the ride no jock would have won on it..dave give the analysis up and stick to throwing darts.

Jockeys quite rightly deserve  slating from pocket talkers imo , they are a law unto themselves and the trainers ! One race they sit there on a horse full of running and don `t even shake the reigns , the very next race they are knocking seven bells out of a horse to get up and win by a short head !
Very rare you hear of jockeys actually getting any stick at the track for doing as they please!
Most if not all are oblivious to what punters say on the forums , and most wouldn`t give a hoot anyway!

Even Ryan More is riding like a **** at the moment. That ride on the Gosden horse at Newbury, omg, out for a bit of star gazing.
