Michael Dickinson should have received a knighthood in the 1980's for services to my bank balance.

The only recent one was Cecil and there were special circumstances there. Stoute got his for charity work in his native country I believe. A jockey might be more likely as only Gordon Richards has managed it. Piggott would have but for his misdemeanour. If as I think he is McCoy is from N Ireland he must be a distinct possibility, but I don't know his religious background. He'd be very brave to accept one if he is Catholic.

I was wrong about Stoute's being for charitable works. It DID relate to his native Barbados but it was for services to tourism. I imagine he would have been nominated by the barbadian govt.

Stoutes knighthood was for services to tourism in Barbados, where he was born.

If it is a trainer I imagine Henderson is the most likely. Right background, trained for the royals, been around a long time etc. Though it won't be before he retires I would guess, when he may have got rid of his nickname.
A few cricketers have been knighted like Stoute ostensibly for other things - Warner.Allen,Constantine,Botham. Possibly somebody like Clutterbuck is also Head of Mi7.
