At least Geoff will take an each-way bet, unlike a certain "bet-broker" internet firm who bet WIN ONLY on a 13-runner handicap at Newcastle yesterday.

There seems to be some confusion here. I was referring to this man:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Banks Thanks Reculver for pointing out the wrong spelling of 'Jeff'. |
|
By:
isn't he the one who is well up in the fashion world [ as opposed to the bookmaker one ]
|
|
By:
I don't know Geoff Banks but he makes an effort and seems to take a bet.
He is articulate and presents a good case and is an asset to the bookmakers even though he gets a lot of negativity on here. The opening poster complains about percentages without really understanding that they are theoretical. |

EVEN BETTER A RECORDING OF THE BIGGEST POST WAR STATEMENT EVER MADE,NO NOT THE "EAGLE HAS LANDED",FAR MORE VALUABLE THAN THAT IS THE LONG LOST STATEMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT APPOINTED CLIVE REAMS OF"THERE WILL NEVER BE BOARDS ON RAILS"

Truth is if I was betting to 3% a runner these days I'm satisfied I could stand and enjoy the view, because I wouldn't be taking a bet
Also true, I don't declare my margin, nor show any remorse for running a book to make money, just like any other business. I take pride in the quality of service given to my customers- never refusing a wager - always at standard terms even when favourite is odds on. These things cost money. Do I want to follow the Ryanair school of Bookmaking, or do I believe that's the best way for Bookmakers to carry on? No - absolutely not Do I care if there are 'value merchants' who expect Bookies to bet to penny margin? No. But I make no apology for responsibly running a business - based in the UK, paying my taxes and keeping faithful staff employed. The original poster has the absolute right (anonymously) to give his opinion, but as there were 5 other Bookmakers standing next to me there, he has the oxygen of choice. Harrods is more expensive than Tesco - but then they do it better Also - I'm a lot better looking than Barry Dennis. So there |

Some Bookmakers appear to have an inability to locate the CAPS LOCK key.
Or do they make special laptops for them that omit this key which, for the rest of us, is a necessity so that we can post accurately and politely? |
