agree with carrot just a case of over confidence.

That's the point, jockeys cant afford to be over confident and then get horses like that beat through their arrogance.Bar steward does it all the time.

as long  as  mullins  can do that and just  forget  about  it  after  a minute  and a half , or have a joke about  it  with his dad , then that will happen in a soft  race on a friday evening ....fact is they do not really  care too much .......if  that  was  the champion bumper  would mullins  have played  the fool ?  no...he  would  have lashed  the living  daylights  out  of it ....factor  it into your bets ...they  dont  really  care  about a  soft  race like this...if  he can win fooling  around  then he is happy  to ...if  not , who  cares ?

Do they not have stewards in Ireland?

Why get involved if you know Irish racing is rancid?
By:

When: 23 Aug 13 19:21
not  for jockey  incompetence  they dont ....and  if  youre  thinking  its  something  else [ ie.  rancid ] that  takes  some  proving and they have to be  very  careful with even suggesting  such  !  so no. In a word .

Irish racing is becoming a joke due to jockeys like Jane Mangan and PW Mullins Etc People are getting fed up with it, me included.

Mullins failed...either by incompetence, arrogance, or something else, to ensure that the horse obtained its best possible placing. How is that not a ban?
By:

When: 23 Aug 13 19:27
In Ireland trainers/jockeys /stewards are usually related to each other, thats why theres no ban

PaulWS.....arrogance  and  incompetence  sadly  have never  been reasons  or criteria for even considering a chat with someone that has  displayed  such things in a race, nevermind banning them . What is arrogance  and incompetence  to one is not finding off the bridle to someone else , as you can see  from the replies  on this forum even. They could not , and  would not wish to , enforce  it . Ever.

So faling to ensure that the horse obtained the best possible place is ok in Ireland?

now  then.  that is of  course slightly  different .  Let me deal with that now you have  brought  it up . The stewards in Ireland can investigate if they feel that , in that case  for example , Mullins failed to obtain the best possible place based on his refusal to ride a horse out. However , it  would be very difficult to ban mullins  based on your criteria of arrogance  and incompetence. When was the last time a jockey  was banned  in Ireland  for not obtaining the best possible place  owing to incompetence or arrogance ?

Just watched it, just a poor ride and the winner gave all when joined.

SONKO IF HE WENT EARLIER DO U THINK HE WOULD OF WON EASY?
By:
basilbrush
When: 24 Aug 13 11:56
Of course he would Alice, he could have gone by on the bridle and won easily if the jockey had asked the horse to go and win the race sooner, showboating that came unstuck and cost punters a mint.
