soft in the ground!
I'd take 10/1 on it being called off. I reckon a month's rain has fallen in an hour, be staggered if we aren;t looking at standing water in the morning, the Knavesmire drains so well but no course could take the amount of rain we've just had (and are continuing to have). Stilleto's are staying in the cupboard tomorrow......boo! |

not that many horses that stand to gain significantly from this....
Rio's Rosanna perhaps. Have spent the last 45 minutes frantically searching for proven mudlarks, coming up pretty dry. |

SOD'S LAW
Just looked on Rainfall Radar Heavy DOWNPOUR - right over York - and arm of rain spreading Nortt-West from it, over the Pennines, towards Kendal, et al.'DRY as a bone' ... to the North - East - South - and West - of York. |

my balcony guttering, which has been stagnant since i moved in over a year ago is flowing like a river.
I honestly can't think i've seen more rain fall in an hour ever. And as you'll see from my previous comment i am struggling to see those runners that will strongly benefit from it. |

be interesting to see which trainers withdraw horses despite little or no evidence that they won't go on the rain softened going.

rain has stopped!
Drove along the racecourse side and though i couldn't see standing water on the turf the racecourse approach is badly flooded, as is plenty of York. Poor old Wild Coco missed it by one day! |

One of the reasons it's so difficult for punters. Everyone piled on the quick ground horses for Friday - bookies may as well collect all the chips now. Like when the ball lands in the green 0 at roulette.
