Move along people, nothing to see here, one time favourite in the race get beaten, happens every day of the week.

The horse opened at 3/1, touched 5/2 and ended up 4/1 so not exactly a massive drift and I'm taking a wild guess here and suggesting any slight drift on Fallon's horse was due to the eventually 3/1f being backed into that price from an opening show of 6/1,

Any other jockey and it isn't even an issue.

don't forget he ran a stinker on soft at newcastle when odds-on so possible the rain there today ruined his chances and that was why he drifted and the blinkers may not have worked a 2nd time.

That and the fact it was beaten favourite on each of its first 3 starts and eventually got off the mark 4th time in a 0-65 maiden handicap at Yarmouth suggests the horse is nothing special and probably only ran here as it was due to go up 10lbs soon anyway. It was 2nd top rated on 60 last time and the rest were in the 50s and 40s right the way down to 49 and with the bulk of the field made up of runners from small yards.

Today the horse was running in a 0-85 handicap where it was the lowest rated horse in the race on 66 with the top rated being 79 and at a grade 1 course, the rest of the 11 runners had already won 19 races between them before today compared to the rivals in its last race all being maidens and today's rivals came from quite a few shrewd yards, so admittedly in part with the benefit of hindsight here but there wasn't really that much to recommend the horse on today.
