I start a Jockey thread about once every THREE years! - because ...
a) - I consider them all to be, as they say - something of 'a necessary evil'.
b) - Unlike many 'protagonists' - or, should that be pontificators - on here - I do NOT consider myself to be an 'expert' judge of jockeys.
- and then - when I DO make a complimentary post - I get the old, assumptive - "how much did you win" - retort.
Just thought it was a great ride - with perseverance rewarded .... when many OTHERS would have GIVEN up ...
Come you imagine Frank Spencer, and his ilk, having kept SHOVING like that? --------------- Anyway - At least the Stable representative agreed.
QUOTES: Fabrice Smeulders, representing Ian Williams, trainer of Body Language: "She is slow. She was off the bridle in the back straight, but fortunately she had a good jockey who didn´t give up."

Two smart arse postings from the 'pontificating protagonists' ...
Neither of them relevant to the race in question
That's why I - USUALLY - steer clear of the innumerable Jockey threads.

graham lee defo divides opinion, personally i think he's a bit like r hills in that he gets (got) lots of good rides but often loses when you think he should win because he's a bit weak in the finish, fwiw i took 3/1 he'd ride 100 winners but i think thats unlikely now, maybe its all the wasting he has to do and the hot weather though some rides like saturdays in the john smiths was just awful the more you watch it, i notice motorshead has stopped talking about him for champion jockey!

[b]following on from the above thread - from last TUESDAY, at Beverley ...
COMPLICIT - just now, at Ripon. ---------
Raw 2-yr-old ...
Would not go in the Stalls - then, Fell out of them.
Running like a Giraffe wearing Stilettos.
Eventually got it organised - and got it going.
Good ride.

Yep very good ride, but what would have happened if it travelled like a dream but was in behind a few horses and he had to take action to manouvre himself out of a hole at the right time?, not denying Lee doesn't look good and does his job in his turn, but the scenario in this post is his particular achilles heel.

duffy - You obviously study jockeys more than I, concede, I do -
So I will not dispute your overall observations.
However, surely, the horse was the problem in that race - not the jockey ... even potentially, too.
