they took my winnings off me fast enough lol

The second was deprived a run up the inside and then when he came wide the winner ran off the rail out into the middle of the track .Clearly the stewards have formed the opinion that thad the second been allowed an unobstructed run that it would have won. Seen ones like that go both ways but the horse who finished FPP did himself no favours. Apart from on exchanges most bookies pay both FPP and ROR in Ireland so won't impact punters in Ireland that haven't bet on the exchanges so much.

Don,t think the winner did
alot wrong,myself.
Report placepotkid July 15, 2013 9:35 PM BST
leigh roche had no need to attempt to go between the 2 leaders, if he would have stuck to the outside he wins anyway, BUT the fact is he didn't ,,,lucky to get race in my opinion

A salutary lesson to all that Irish Stewards are, thick as pig **** or,far worse, corrupt mongrels.
Take your pick.

Michael, you must have somehow missed the Whitbread at Sandown where Docklands Express was awarded the race by the Sandown Stewards at the expense of the Irish raider Cahervillahow. That's one that sticks out in my mind but equally there have been others where questinable decisions have been made by the Stewards. In the race last night from the side on you can see that the 2nd had to snatch up, was interfered with albeit the interference may have been accidental and had he not been denied a run he would probably have won. Arguably you could say that he just hung in behind the horse which whished FPP and that there was no gap for him to go for anyway and that the horse who finished 3rd came off the rails which was as much to blame for the gap closing as the winner coming accross. In any case it is open to interpretation and it's how the stewards see it that counts. I don't think it makes any difference which country these incidents happen in, cause they happen both in UK and Ireland. There's a lot of bollox and pocket talk on this thread not to mention the usual racist bullshit we've come to expect. WhoopsAnyway , as usual us punters have to lump it whether we like it or not. In truth I sympathise with backers of FPP on here as I didn't think it would be reversed and if it hadn't been I don't think there would have been too many complaints. I backed the fourth in the race so no financial interest in the reversal but I can understand how the stewards have arrived at this decision and respect their view . As the rules stand there is too much subjectivity about the would he or wouldn't he have won. In this instance it isn't clear cut whether the FPP was even at fault for the interference but rightly or wrongly the stewards have made that call, a call which I very much doubt had anything to do with the stewards being Irish, corruption or that the decision was down to being "thick as pigshit" as described by racingstar. I'm sure Michael if you follow racing for the next 40 years you will experience many more occasions when you disagree with decisions of the stewards.

Report michael59 July 16, 2013 6:36 PM BST
JEFKA  thank you for your reply , very fair in my opinion . also at no time did i say just irish racing i lumped it into irish/gb racing . i still think the horse given the race made his own problems and the FPP had absolutely nothing to do with the interference infact the problem was merely due to the course layout
Report windsor_boy July 16, 2013 6:49 PM BST
First past the post - no problems.
Report wildmanfromborneo July 16, 2013 6:52 PM BST
Michael59 is correct a ludicrous decision maybe the stewards will fine the racecourse for the cambers and configuration of the course, they love blaming someone or something.
