That's a fall from grace for the KC's. They were half decent not so long ago

going to York on the Friday evening myself, wouldn't be but its the other half's birthday so already booked, taking a book and earplugs!, having a sabbatical from punting till Ebor as I've had the worst run in history this year, lost every day at the royal meeting and the last winner I backed at York was the aga-khans horse at the dante, still on the Saturday at York  I might just watch little mix if I have to!!

my point is about the way racecourse horseracing punters are treated at Newmarket as being welcomed at the july course on seven Friday night race meetings where the handicaps are all low grade affairs. agreed the maidens could have any horse with considerable future ability being given a gentle introduction.
common sense that with so many stables in walking distance it's certain that horses with potential will run there but this thread is about the band playing after racing and my angle is how much it costs to attend there for the very same band compared with York and what racing entertainment is provided for your money on the two specified dates

to be fair I have long said the best value racecourse in the country is York for the punters,in every aspect,and yes the racing on the whole is pretty good,not as good as it used to be mind you.however I will always be defensive of Newmarket.
