he's rapidly becoming a disappointing horse, possibly campaigned too aggressively - on the other hand you'd be entitled to ask why AOB can always find a representative for a valuable G1 in France like that whereas none of the UK based trainers can.

no doubt many UK trainers could have sent a horse to finish 7th but they probably figured it wasn't worth it

easy to be flippant when you know the result, prize money for fifth in that race was nearly £14k compared with £5k for fifth in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
So perfectly legitimate to question why Hillstar was n't there - or any of the other protagonists from the Ascot race for that matter. |

This race has never been a target for UK trainers - any horse thought good enough would be contesting the Irish Derby or the King George. O'Brien will be sending his best 12f horse to the KG.
