against the Fabre trio in their own backyard , don't think so.

He will have to try and beat them with a strong pace imo , and I think this will be another race showing how poor Epsom was.

Derby form looking pretty shocking so far. This one is a certainty to be sold to De **** now

ludicrous tactics , typical slow French race with sprint , when has Battle Of Marengo ever looked like he has turn of foot this season ?

That Derby was pretty rubbish wasn't it

he's rapidly becoming a disappointing horse, possibly campaigned too aggressively - on the other hand you'd be entitled to ask why AOB can always find a representative for a valuable G1 in France like that whereas none of the UK based trainers can.

no doubt many UK trainers could have sent a horse to finish 7th but they probably figured it wasn't worth it

easy to be flippant when you know the result, prize money for fifth in that race was nearly £14k compared with £5k for fifth in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

So perfectly legitimate to question why Hillstar was n't there - or any of the other protagonists from the Ascot race for that matter.

This race has never been a target for UK trainers - any horse thought good enough would be contesting the Irish Derby or the King George. O'Brien will be sending his best 12f horse to the KG.
