Hmmm, the whole field still in contention and fanned out in almost a straight line at the 2f in a 16 runner field and people are seemingly surprised that there might have been a few hard luck in running stories in there.

Does the draw really make that much difference in a 12f race? The ground at Haydock is described as Good to Firm and yet today's race was run at almost 4 seconds slower than average time, which might explain why so many were in contention for so long and why there weren't too many dropping away and creating the gaps for other runners.

Was Fallon the only hard luck in running story in the race? Of course he wasn't but other jockeys aren't Public Enemy #1 are they? Ironically Joe Fanning got an even worse run than Fallon on a horse Fallon often rides and had he been on it again you would get 1.01 that it would still be Fallon being flagged up for the ride on that one, which incidentally was also drawn only two stalls away from Fallon too. Unless it was just a bit of trolling going on, I even saw one of the regular Fallon knockers on here asking should he have been banned for "barging his way out" when that's exactly what he didn't do and has cost him the race or at least going close anyway because of it.

As for the other ludicrous suggestions being made that he didn't want to win. Why wouldn't he want to win a televised Saturday high profile race like today's for a trainer who could very well give him plenty of other quality horses to ride throughout the season if he had won today? Oh and especially at a time when other owners who don't seem to realise how average some of their horses are deciding not to use Fallon any more. Do you not think he would not only like to make a point to them but that he would also want to take every opportunity going?

Or does that sound just a little too much like common sense? Confused

And I think silvergreaser has a far more worryingly negative obsession with Fallon than is actually healthy.....especially once taking into account the user name too. Shocked

I had a picture of Piggott on Nijinsky in my room when I shared a house, I don't mind admitting my eyes wandered over a couple of times when I was pounding some tart.

OK fair enough silvergreaser, it's sometimes hard to tell when it is or isn't meant as fun with the written word where you can't hear tones as with spoken words but I can assure you that some of it from others isn't meant in fun anyway. Grin

I rarely if ever start any threads at all on here let alone Fallon ones, so it's others instigating things and have far more of an obsession than I have and according to some on here he only ever has 3 kinds of rides:

1. the horse did it all when he wins.
2. incompetent ones.
3. dodgy and at it ones.

Apparently he never has a horse unlucky in running, no horse of his ever finds the trip too short or has failed to stay. None ever have problems with the pace being too fast or too slow. All of his mounts seemingly always love the ground they just happen to be racing on that day and no trainers he rides for are ever out of form and on the cold list. Happy
