In Newton abbots case I think the entrance to the middle
Is via the silver ring therefore aren't they the books affected Also lower tatts pitches pay same fee as tatts so should The mechanism not be 1 : 1 : 1 Rails tatts lower tatts |

I see royal ascot are allowing 3000 less in tatts plus found a new area for another 1500,an area which will be serviced by the new tote operator.

nineiron re NA. That's exactly the same problem we had at Windsor a few years ago. Despite the access to the other side of the track being through the silver ring, it was the tatts/rails who were allowed to bet there. It was changed a couple of years later but only, I suspect, after the rails/tatts bookmakers found it to be no good !!

Any new area pitches should come from the list relating to the enclosure in which the new pitches are situated. Where that is not clear (ie if the new area is in a place that was never an enclosure as such at all) the Windsor precedent - the one that was accepted from a point of principle - was that the admission price to the public who are allowed into that area should govern which ring of bookmakers it relates to.
In other words, if the public are paying silver ring prices to access an altogether new area then the area should be serviced by silver ring bookmakers. If they are paying Tatts or club prices it would point towards the area being one that should be serviced under the 1-1 by Tatts and rails lists. |

Unfortunately the only mechanism in the contracts is the one-on-one tatts/rails for new areas, regardless of how fair it is. There is nothing in the contracts giving a tatts/silver mechanism.

the silver ring books at Doncaster seem to have worked a blinder with this ruling , which has not been consulted with anyone to my knowledge.
the area indicated on the agt website are the cobbles in tatts [ the old 2nd ring area ]. it will be interesting to find out what badge the silver ring books pay plus what agt fee as they will only have paid a silver ring badge on entry to the racecourse |

I am assuming that as a sunday it is normal fot tatts ring to be deserted and the silver ring packed [ they hope ] so the gate from the silver is open and this area is on a one off basis part of the silver but ALL books choosing to bet there should pay exactly the same fee surely.
