get your money back for the void runner and a single on the first with most firms.

What do the xxxs represent? If just an ew double it goes on the winner.

As already replied ... the 'Double' simply becomes a SINGLE on the OTHER horse.

You will have to explain MORE, your .... "cross" bet

Maybe you mean - say, £1 on A - 'if cash' > £1 B ... and Reversed.

But the modern technology of betting has rendered many of those type of bets redundant.

You cannot HELP those .....

Who cannot help themselves.

EXPLAIN your Bet, and Stakes,  IN FULL .... without colloquial terminology. -ie: "cross"

Last Chance.

a cross double would be 6 bets.
two win singles
two place singles
one double win
one double place

you would get back

5 x 4 = £20
i take it its 1/5 place terms so £4

no stake back in cross double single bets

your stake returned for the rest so

£16

£36 back.

correction, £40, if the place terms are 1/5, the single place would return £8
