Although not in prime form I think Hunter Mahan is overpriced.

Hugely tough tournament to win however.

Thank you, delta.

Can look up my notes now you've isolated the race for me.

Only went to Sedgefield because Newton Abbot was waterlogged, so was very lucky. My paddock note for the winner was "fat", but most northern horses were in those days, and it had won a mdn hdle on the track a couple of years earlier. So with the first-time tongue tie, you could just make out a case. I priced it at 100/1, so had to have something on at 200s. Had 40 score the second as well.

Had a £1000 to £60 the last winner too, Tony Dobbin making all on a Barry Murtagh hurdler called Salinger.

Whatever happened to days like that?

And how the hell did I get back from Darlington to my parents' home in Slough after an evening meeting, then get to Uttoxeter the next afternoon?

Oh to be 15 years younger again.Sad

Y E Yang 2009 P G A Championship. Some one put up £22 at a 1000 pre the tournament so took that thinking he was about a 200/1 shot, intended to lay off through the event which I did with most of it. Kept £3.00 of it at a 1000. Yang hit one of the best fairway woods(hybrid I think) to the final hole to within about 10 feet to secure victory. I couldn't believe it, he came from behind to beat Tiger Woods which in those days was virtually unheard of. Golf events are pretty good for things like that, you can often find some good outsiders at decent prices for small stakes pre tourney and lay them off in running over the 4 days and get some good returns and an interest in the event for a few days.
Report screaming from beneaththewaves May 10, 2013 10:04 AM BST
Well done, Llamedos.
