that's a good point but whether New Approach didn't like it or not he got away with it once and so did his sire, but Dawn Approach's dam never raced on it so?.....

new approach didnt hit the ground anywhere near as hard as dawn approach does. new approach was a far better mover than DA and quite simply comparisons of ability at this stage are crazy

I've backed Dawn Approach so I hope so, there are showers forecast for Newmarket this afternoon, but, probably not enough to change the going.

i'm green on DA and toronado, but was thinking of laying DA now. will see if any rain comes b4 doing anything

lay it taipan you know it makes sense!!!
if your green on DA just lay him for your green and £0 loss, means more profit on the others, especially toronado.

Very worried indeed about this fast ground for the 2YO World Champ, combined with any draw bias that might affect things.

Probably hasn't trained on,remember Dawn Approach won the opening two year old race last year.
He also showed signs of temperament in his last two races.

Not only a massive lay but a place lay to boot.

Newmarket latest: It's windy
It's windy here, just as it was for the Craven meeting, and, although slightly behind, it's blowing pretty much across the track and into the stands, as it did then.
It's well watered, as we know, but it's  already good to firm, and it can only go one way.

Newmarket latest: Word on the ground
I can't pretend to be an expert course walker, but I've just walked the last two and a half furlongs and, while there is a very nice cover of grass it certainly walks pretty quick.
There's no doubt moisture a little deeper, but the top is understandably drying out.

On the other hand, if he has trained on, there might be more improvement in him most of his rivals as he is younger than most/all? of his rivals being foaled on the 23rd of April.

i'll split it up, by half laying DA, and the rest backing toronado again.got monumental red figures on MOO, CC, and the 5 outsiders!Love

Just as well they have left him in the hands of his original trainer then, hopefully the blue silks is the only thing Dawn Approach has to overcome.

If his age is against him as a 3 year old, it should have been an even bigger problem when he was two. He seemed to cope OK with it then ;)
