It is one of Racing's mysteries - that he has lasted so long with Gosden

Mind you, there are several - nay many - similar scenarios.

Yes, Rob is a very nice lad and a knowledgable horseman. Rated highly by Towser n that's enough for me. You can't always have a high win rate if you don't get on the first strings. Travels the worl riding and works damn hard. We can't all be Moore/Hughes sat on steering jobs day in, day out ....

Never met him, don't doubt his attitude or his personality. Must be a good work rider to have been with Gosden so long. Not a name that fills me with confidence when I want to back one though.

"Travelling the world, and working damn hard." .....

Does not [b#automatically[/b] make you a competent jovckey, though - let alone a good one.

- and "Towser" - has been dead for 46 years, too.

Seems to be a likeable down to earth guy and usually does the job when the horse has a chance. Has a 17% strike rate when riding for Gosden which is pretty good by any standards, but excellent considering he is usually riding 2nd strings and inexperienced animals.

Is never going to be a ´go to´ jockey but a competent back-up.
