Just been matched at 1.85 for this horse and fully expect it to go off about 1.6. Ran a great race first time out at newcastle and the 3rd won well last weekend and the 4th came second to a haggas ( flying start ) newcomer. The second favourite met a fair bit of trouble in running but was well beat on her debut and was 16/1 so not exactly fancied on debut at ponte, that form has been let down by the run of hello beautiful who was stuffed by lexington rose, the horse who finished behind pheeny on its debut. The dalglish barn havent had a good start to the turf flat season and although theres a bit of money for o mearas that will dry up imo. Dont generally like tipping odds on pokes but i like this one a lot!

I like Lady Captain at the odds - Hampered, hampered, not clear run, green - at the odds ew. An eventful run for a 2yo should show plenty of improvement.

I know what your saying but unlucky horses imo are the way to the poor house, there often very underpriced. It will be a good each way bet with the books opening show if you can get it and if it stays at 8 so theres plenty worse bets out there. I just think that although it was unlucky last time and green, through the form ties with hello beautiful and lexington rose that has got so much to find with princess pheeny.Im gonna lay 2/3 my stake pre race, hopefully somewhere in the 1.6s and lay the other 1/3 in running at 1.3. Hope i win and lady captain comes second :)

I think Duffield ran Hello Beautiful too soon at Ripon, and it was the green element and kept on, nearest finished that interested me more than the repeatedly hampered as I know what you mean about backing unlucky horses next time, but I do think a 2yo getting such a rough race and running green can show big improvement. Don't get me wrong Fav's race is solid though but can't back odds on, especially a second time out 2yo.

Fair points. Thats why im hoping to get 2/3 of my stake laid in the 1.6s so then ive got somewhere between evens and 11/10 for my money. thanks for replying, it seems hard to get a decent discussion on a race on this forum these days!

my one negative about the fav would be that she grabbed the stands rail after a furlong last time and that proved the place to be later on in the card. Because of that I would guess she was probably 4th best in that race. That might be good enough but I wouldn't be a backer personally

Laid of 2/3 at 1.64, can see this drifting out again before coming back on the opening show to around 1.66 bsp

backed his winner early yesterday, said he is due some, he's about 18% in may with his 2yos.

this one has obvious claims but price looks nothing special at all.

Id say price is about right now, was too big earlier.

just going through the pedigrees you may be right paul, perhaps it has very little to worry about here.

definitely expect a few fahey winners next fortnight, his flying clarets ran a stormer too yesterday at big odds.

just seen omeara has not had a 2yo debutant winner yet

dalgleish's looks  quite precocious on paper but its not a yard that screams fto winner, the sire is about 18% over 5f as a 2yo, going up to 23% on gf/firm.

ryans can come on a lot, plenty of his bt 10-15l on debut have won 2nd time out, sire about 10% over this trip as 2yo.

burkes never had a winner 2nd time out after being stuffed like that first run.

all in all struggled with the others to find much opposition.

Cheers striding. Ill be looking to cover the rest of my stake at 1.3 and make it a winner either way at 1.2. Think its got all the hallmarks of going very short and if it is to be beat i think it will be by a horse that goes very big in running and runs on and clobbers it on the line!

thought de sousa was an interesting booking for dalgleish

only ridden two 2yos for him and won with 1

perhaps he has got his one ready

used to hate these races but really like them now, even just watching for future winners (hopefully!)

Kirtling Belle: Hitgh SP for Kirtling Belle, but with exception of first favourit in this race Princess Pheeny, next two favourit at bookmark, Lady Captain who have one 6th place from 13 runner but finish at 18L behind winner and Innocently who so far is unraced, Kirting Belle have big chance for top three in this race, successful as juvenil, win at 5f before, jockey with very good experience today, S De Sousa.

Kirtling Belle: Princess Pheeny could prove to be very hard to beat in the first at Redcar after a fine run on her racecourse debut when finishing a close up 2nd at Newcastle last month however the fly in the ointment could be the Keith Dalgleish trained newcomer Kirtling Belle.
Dalgleish should know where he stands with Princess Pheeny as his Robynelle finished just under 1 1/2L behind Fahey's filly in that Newcastle race.
Jockey S.De Sousa takes the mount and in his four previous rides for the Dalgleish stable De Sousa has produced 1 win & 2 places.
