Caulfields Venture is on the upgrade and should be tough to beat. But at the prices, I'm playing Over and Above.

It's third came in a really nice race which was run at a good clip. Winner of the race Haar has scored subsequently and second place will be winning next time up. OAA ran like it wanted further, so 3 miles will suit. Course and Distance are also bonuses as well as the good ground. Surprisingly, it has been dropped a further 2 pounds which I think could be the difference, as the favourite is a couple of pounds higher in the handicap.

I think it'll go extremely close today and am playing Win and Place.

SILAS MARINER is trained by Mandy Rowland and Adam Pogson is the jockey booking for this horse. I had a look back in this horse's form and one run that interested me was when this horse finished just 8 lengths behind Days Ahead a few months ago at Tramore. The second horse in that race has won recently and the form of that race looks solid. Also that second horse was getting 6 lbs of weight from my pick so Silas Mariner could have beaten him off levels which makes me think this horse could be well handicapped today off a mark of 100. I know the trip is the total opposite to what he ran over at Tramore but I'm still hopeful
